2020 GMC Terrain Elevation: Live Photo Gallery

The 2020 GMC Terrain slots in as the third model year for the second-generation nameplate, bringing with it a few minor updates and changes. Among these is the addition of the Elevation Edition package, which renames the previous model year’s Black Edition. Now, we’re taking a look at this 2020 Terrain SLE Elevation Edition in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

The 2020 GMC Terrain’s new Elevation Edition package tosses in a variety of unique, dark-themed exterior styling changes, including a darkened front grille, black roof side rails, 19-inch Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels, black center caps, black mirror caps, and black accents with black trim badging.

This particular model is also covered in optional Satin Steel Metallic paint, which comes as a nice complement to the content of the Elevation Edition package.

Up front, we find HID headlamps and LED signature lighting. The headlamps are also equipped with GM IntelliBeam technology.

Notably, this 2020 GMC Terrain Elevation Edition sports black GMC emblems, which is another optional extra and replaces the standard red GMC emblems. It’s a nice pairing with the rest of the color choices, and keeps a continuous theme running front to back.

Indeed, black GMC badging is a relatively new addition to the brand’s lineup, and falls in line nicely with broader automotive styling trends. As we covered previously, it looks as though GMC is also cooking up illuminated badging for future GMC models.

As for the greasy bits, this 2020 GMC Terrain Elevation Edition is powered by the turbocharged 1.5L inline four-cylinder LYX engine, which produces 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Output is harnessed by the GM nine-speed automatic MNH transmission, and exclusively transmitted to the front wheels. To note, the 2020 GMC Terrain is also offered with the turbocharged 2.0L inline four-cylinder LTG, producing 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while AWD is available as well.
