Introducing the Silverado HD Trail Boss and a few other changes and updates from the 2024 model year, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD also dropped two exterior paints from its palette. It also added one new color to the lineup, Cypress Gray. Here, GM Authority is taking a closer look at the details of the new Cypress Gray paint.
Cypress Gray is identified with color code GBD and touch-up paint number WA-229K. It is one of nine exterior paint colors for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD, indirectly replacing Auburn Metallic (paint code G48) and Dark Ash Metallic (paint code G6M). The following list shows all the colors offered on the 2025 Silverado HD (paint codes in parenthesis):
- Black (GBA)
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W)
- Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Red Hot (G7C)
- Slate Gray Metallic (GNO)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Cypress Gray (GBD – new for 2025)
Cypress Gray is an extra-charge color priced at $395. It can be ordered in conjunction with the LT, LTZ and ZR2 trim levels of the 2025Â Chevy Silverado HD, but not the other trims. The exterior paint color is available with both LT colorways – Jet Black and Gideon / Very Dark Atmosphere – and on the ZR2 with the trim’s sole colorway, Jet Black / Graystone. It can be ordered in conjunction with both LTZ colorways, Jet Black and Gideon / Very Dark Atmosphere. Cypress Gray is not offered on the WT, Custom and High Country.
For reference purposes, the 2025Â Chevy Silverado HD has the following interior colorways available, with several variants based on different seat configurations (bucket or bench) and seat upholstery materials:
- Jet Black
- Gideon / Very Dark Atmosphere
- Jet Black / Graystone
- Jet Black / Nightshift Blue
- Jet Black / Umber
Pricing for the 2025 Silverado HD begins with a starting MSRP $47,295 for the Regular Cab Long Bed rear-wheel drive configuration of the 2500 HD WT trim equipped with the 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine. At the top end, the 2500 HD ZR2 Bison with Crew Cab Standard Bed configuration, 4WD, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine has a starting price of $91,720. The official online configurator is currently live.
The Silverado HD cradles one of two different engines under the hood for propulsion, the standard naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine developing 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.
The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is underpinned by a more capable variant of the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Oshawa plant in Canada and the GM Flint plant in Michigan.
Comments
Looks promising but I need to see it in person. It’s on the Trax and some others too. I felt the same way about the now-discontinued Harvest Bronze (that was hardly bronze) and nearly vomited when I saw it in person.
If you want to see real world photos, check out the new Tahoe and Suburban. The press photos of the Z71 Tahoe/Suburban are Cypress Gray.
Colors, you always have to see them in person. Colors online, I have had it where I thought a color was awesome only to see it in person and think it’s terrible; and vice-versa.
If it has gray in the title, it’s not a color.
Must see in person. This article makes it appear grey with hints of green. But as I scrolled down to find the comments there was a link to another GM Authority article introducing the same color on the Trax and the image makes it appear more blue grey.
I wouldn’t hate it with shiny bright wheels and grill.
I’ve seen several ’25 Trax in this color so far, and I like it. It has strong green genes.
Cypress gray is beautiful on the 2500! Only problem is according to the dealer it isn’t available on zr2, even though the gm order guide shows it is, dealer says no. Lost a sale from me.
