The ZR2 includes a selection of features improving the truck’s off-road capability beyond that of other trims, including increased ground clearance and improved traction on loose surfaces. The ZR2 Bison takes the heavy-duty pickup to the next level of off-road capability.
The trim level lineup for the 2024 Silverado HD includes Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country, plus ZR2 and ZR2 Bison. Customers can also opt for a wealth of packages and special-edition models, including the Z71 Sport Edition, Z71 Chrome Sport Edition, Midnight Special Edition, and Alaskan Snow Plow Special Edition.
The exterior boasts a large new front fascia outfitted with revised headlamps featuring C-shaped LED lighting signatures shared with the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. The truck also incorporates a new grille design, new wheel and tire options, and tow hooks equipped as standard on all models.
LT trim levels and above get an overhauled cabin space equipped with an all-new 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and 12.3-inch diagonal configurable driver information center.
Powerplants for the refreshed 2024 Silverado HD include the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine developing 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque and equipped as standard. The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optionally available, now with output boosted for the 2024 model year refresh to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both gasoline and diesel 2024 Silverado HD trucks are now paired with the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic, replacing the GM six-speed automatic for the gasoline engine.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is once again offered in 2500 HD and 3500 HD configurations, as well as Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles. Silverado 3500 HD models also offer dual-rear-wheel configurations and trailering capacity up to 36,000 pounds, while max tow ratings for the Silverado 2500 HD increase from 18,510 to 22,500 pounds. The refreshed heavy-duty pickup truck rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform.
Production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is under way at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada. Production for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 and ZR2 Bison is set to begin in August.

I tried to order the slate gray metallic and it’s “late availabilty” and nobody seems to know when it’s even available. So it’s great that they have all these color choices but you can’t actually get them.
I ordered Lakeshore Blue on my ’24 LTZ back in April and a week later the dealer called and said the color was “late availability”. I haven’t heard anything since. Chevy’s order site still doesn’t say anything about late availability. At least GMC’s site says late availability for Downpour Metallic which is the same color.
They should only announce these new colors when they are actually available.
I have a 2020 (High Country 6.2 gas) Silverado in a shinny silver and I get more compliments on it than any other vehicle I’ve owned, except my 2003 black H2 Hummer when it first came out!!!
And this 6.2 hauls the mail when you punch it…..
Love my GM vehicles…but NO electric rides for this almost 76 yr old ( USMC -Viet Nam ) veteran!!!
Thank you sir for your service to our country .
Does anyone know when any other colors other than black and white and red become available
i dont understand it. every color is dark or a shade of black. every interior is black or black with accent color, black parts all over the exterior. this year Ford said we need to be like GM and they did the same. 100K for a truck, the parts should be painted to match
What is with GM and their lack of any other interior color for the HD except for.,,black!? Black interior is simply too hot for me. Many may like the black interior but the lack of any choice means I’m not buying
