The very-first retail production unit of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ ever produced, VIN001, traded hands at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction over the weekend, raising more than half a million dollars for charity. Auction proceeds will go to benefit Detroit Children’s Fund (DFC), a non-profit organization on a mission to provide Detroit children with a quality education. It’s anticipated that the auction proceeds will help thousands of students attending DFC-supported schools. The non-profit organization will receive the entire $550,000 hammer price, with Barrett-Jackson electing to waive the standard fees and commissions associated with the auction.
“The education of its children is paramount to the stability and long-term health of any city, and we’re thrilled that the sale of the first Escalade IQ will benefit the work the Detroit Children’s Fund is doing in our hometown,” said General Motors President Mark Reuss. “We are grateful to Barrett-Jackson for the support in the sale of this historic vehicle to help a great cause.”
The first retail production unit of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is covered in black paint, lending it a sleek, elegant vibe. As GM Authority covered previously, pricing for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade starts at $129,990 for the entry-level Luxury 1 trim level, while the Sport 1 starts at $130,490, the Luxury 2 starts at $149,990, and the Sport 2 starts at $150,490. Check out previous GM Authority coverage for in-depth Escalade IQ pricing information, including all options and packages.
Interestingly, GM President Reuss has stated that the Escalade IQ will be General Motors’ most-profitable EV yet.
Highlight features include a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar infotainment screen that stretches across the dash, as well as an available 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system and available executive second-row seating package. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ recently auctioned for charity included both of these options.
Every unit of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is motivated by a 200kWh battery pack and dual electric motors. Combined motor output is rated at 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, plus an estimated 460 miles of range per charge. The GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
