The 2025 GMC Hummer EV will bring some changes and updates for the new model year, the third for the Hummer EV SUV and the fourth for the Hummer EV Pickup. Now, production of the 2025 model has been delayed by a few weeks.
The start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 model year was initially scheduled for June 3rd, 2024. However, that date has been moved back to June 24th, according to GM Authority sources. Once again, this new date is tentative and could change again between now and then.
Notably, the order books are already open for the 2025 GMC Hummer EV. The lineup once again consists of 2X and 3X trim levels, as the planned 2 or EV2 trim level never made it to production, and has been officially canned. Also gone is the SUV’s Edition 1 package, which was available during the 2024 model year.
Also being dropped is the Omega Edition package (RPO code WFP), available on the 2024 model-year SUV and Pickup, but not offered on the 2025 GMC Hummer EV. Its Neptune Blue Matte paint (color code GLG), along with Tide Metallic (G7X), Afterburner Tintcoat (GC5) and Supernova Metallic (GKK), are out as well. The 2025 model year will introduce a new hue called Graphite Blue Metallic (color code GAI).
Other changes for the new model year include the return of the Sky Panel Storage set (RPO code SC8), which was unavailable to order since October 2023. This LPO or dealer-installed accessory adds a set of trays to the front trunk (or “eTrunk”) of the Hummer EV, providing a secure spot for storing the all-electric off-roader’s Modular Sky Panels. These panels can be taken off for an open-air riding experience, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility.
Pricing for the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup will start at $98,845 including the destination freight charge, as GM Authority previously uncovered.
Under the skin, all Hummer EV variants are supported by the GM BT1 platform. Motivation is provided by two or three GM Ultium Drive motors depending on trim level, with GM Ultium battery technology supplying the energy to run them. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Since GMC only sells a couple thousand of these a year and any delay won’t mean much. Tesla can produce the Hummer EVs entire yearly output in 20 hours.

It’s for people who want something other than the other thing. By now you should know this isn’t a mass market vehicle.

My order for 2025 has already been produced and is sitting in Michigan, when do you believe they will actually ship and release these to the dealers?
