2025 GMC Sierra HD Won’t Offer These Wheel Choices

The 2025 GMC Sierra HD follows the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD with only a few small updates and changes, including some adjustments to the optional equipment and tech features. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2025 GMC Sierra HD will no longer offer several wheel options that were previously available for the 2024 model year. In total, the 2025 Sierra HD will delete three wheel options.

The following wheels will be discontinued with the conclusion of the GMC Sierra HD’s 2024 model year:

  • 20-inch machined aluminum wheel with bright Silver accents (RPO code Q7R)
  • 20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome aluminum wheels (RPO code SKW)
  • 20-inch Chrome aluminum wheels (RPO code SHL)

In addition to the deletion of the three wheel options listed above, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD will also introduce one new wheel option, specifically the 20-inch Bright face wheels with dark painted pockets (RPO code Q7J). The new wheel option will be available as an upgrade for SLE and SLT trim levels, but will not be available for Pro, AT4, AT4X, Denali, or Denali Ultimate trims.

As GM Authority has covered previously, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD brings with it expanded availability for the Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailering (RPO code KSG) feature. Previously equipped as standard on the AT4X and Denali Ultimate trims, the 2025 Sierra HD will include Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailering as standard on AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims, as well as offer the feature as optional for Pro, SLE, and SLT trims. Additionally, Front Park Assist will now be available on more trim levels, including the Pro and SLE, as part of the 1SA Pro Safety Plus Package and Sierra HD Pro Safety Plus package.

As for the mechanical specs, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD continues to cradle the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine as standard, offering the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine as optional. The GM T1 platform provides the bones.

Production for the 2025 GMC Sierra HD is scheduled to begin on July 29th, 2024, at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.
