Rare Tangier Orange 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 Up For Sale In Pennsylvania

For the 2024 model year, the Chevy Silverado HD received a mid-cycle refresh that included updated exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, new paint colors, and the ZR2 trim level. While the 2024 Silverado HD is normally offered in one of 10 paint colors, fleet purchasers can choose from a special list of colors to match their specific needs. Now, one example of a heavy-duty Silverado HD ZR2 coated in one of these unique colors is currently listed for sale in Pennsylvania.

Posted for $85,150, this Silverado HD ZR2 Bison Edition is painted in Tangier Orange (color code 9W4). For those who don’t recognize this hue, Tangier Orange is an SEO (Special Equipment Order) paint color for the Silverado HD, and available for fleet purchases only.

Although details aren’t entirely transparent, dealerships need to order several units of the same SEO color at a time, and that the factory doesn’t process the request until an unspecified number of orders are submitted.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 joins ranks with the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 as the third Bow Tie pickup truck to feature the off-road-focused ZR2 treatment. All-terrain goodies include Multimatic DSSV dampers, unique front upper and lower control arms and steering knuckles, a larger steel transfer case skid plate, a front aluminum skid plate, a rear e-locker, and 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. The Silverado HD ZR2 Bison Edition (RPO code ULV) adds AEV front and rear bumpers, AEV stamped steel skid plates, 18-inch AEV wheels, the Multi-Flex tailgate and AEV branded front-seat floor liners.

In regard to powertrain specifications, the 2024 Silverado HD ZR2 is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as standard, while the uprated-for-2024 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, is available as an option. The Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission is matched to both powerplants.

Pricing for the HD ZR2 units equipped with the gasser boast a starting price of $72,595, while trucks equipped with the Duramax feature a starting MSRP of $82,095. The ZR2 Bison Edition package adds another $9,135 to the invoice. Notably, both prices listed include a $1,995 destination freight charge.

    1. What is cal trans? I’m almost afraid to ask given what it sounds like!

    2. And that’s exactly why I’ll never own an orange truck. Although, Caltrans got rid on the orange paint scheme and now uses white.

  6. Again, We as consumers, have to be held hostage to what ever GM says we want. All these trucks are WAY over priced! AND, you can’t get a regular cab, unless you get a “Work Truck” Even the LS version sucks now. Please, please, bring back Ala-Cart ordering. I’m old enough to remember just that, Go to a Dealer, order exactly what you wanted, plunk down your money, 4 weeks later, it was yours to enjoy. Just the way you need/wanted. K.I.S.S.. it’ should be that easy again.

    1. Pete, I agree. My husband wants a SWB, Reg. Cab 4×4. But….He can’t order it. They just laff at him at the dealer. he has always had SWB, reg. cab Chevies. Hope he can order one before he gets too old to enjoy it. Yes, bring back Ala-Cart ordering. I would bet, GM would sell a whole lot more trucks. If….one can even expect to receive it once your order it.

      1. Yes you can get a regular cab 4×4 with a standard bed. It’s WT with a 4-cylinder only. Need to find a better dealer.

        1. Yeh, you Can get a WT w/ 4 cyl.. But Who the Hell, wants a piece of Krap like that???? MY husband wants a Z/71 or ZR2, 4×4,, SWB, Reg Cab. This is not to be bought/found. Again, We have to buy what GM says we want, NOT what, we REALT want.need. Bring back Ala Cart.

          1. Kathy even when the GM, FORD, AND Dodge where making regular cabs hardly anyone bought them I think ford still makes one of can find any for sale everything is four doors now i personally would like to see the quad cabs come back it still looks a two but you have the small doors for more storage. Unfortunately this is corporate America now they only build what sells and they really don’t want to pay anybody for extra hours at work all they want to make money that’s all that matters anymore.

          2. I agree with you, but your post said you cannot get a regular cab short bed truck and you can. Unfortunately MaryJoe won’t build what GM customers want and if you follow this site you will know that I have been complaining about it for over a year now. I would write a check tomorrow for the truck you described.

  7. I like it the color looks like NY State DPW snoe plow trucks. People might say whatever but trucks are the in thing right now they sell and make companies money 💰. I bet if it was a 60s muscle car y’all would be drooling like a pack of wolves after a heard of sheep. Always remember to you it’s not worth anything but someone out there will buy it and love it.

  8. Yall act like owning a truck that looks like a state truck is a negative, I feel like I got away with speeding because they thought I was a state worker

    1. Lol, it is pretty close to the old State truck color.

  9. Use some of the colors we had in the 60s &70s interior and exterior as option colors. Marine Blue, Omaha Orange, Brigade Blue, Yukon Yellow, Woodland Green, Burnt Orange Hugger Orange just to name a few. Colors may not appeal to everyone but I bet it folks had the options you would start seeing a lot of those colors on the street. Heck, offer a few 2 tone color combinations options, special edition, whatever. 1975 GMC Beau James was pretty good example of a good looking 2 tone pickup IMO. They were offering tons of colors options back then why not now? I guess today’s technology makes different color options to expensive. Lol

    1. Highway department orange and parks department green have been options forever. Green and orange in metallic would be nice
