General Motors has officially unveiled the 2024 GMC Acadia at the Detroit Auto Show, debuting the latest third generation with new styling, larger exterior dimensions, more interior room, and new technology features. All 2024 GMC Acadia variants will be equipped with a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing over 300 horsepower. The 2024 GMC Acadia will be available early next year.
The 2024 GMC Acadia is longer, wider, and taller than the current second-gen GMC Acadia, with the wheelbase stretched by 8.4 inches, the overall length stretched by 10.6 inches, and the overall height increased by 3.2 inches. The larger exterior dimensions provide more space inside the cabin, with 80 percent more cargo room behind the third row. Seating capacity is set at seven.
The new exterior design is paired with an overhauled interior space, the latter of which features a large 15-inch diagonal infotainment screen mounted in a portrait layout in the middle of the dash. The 15-inch infotainment screen pairs with a standard 11-inch diagonal driver information center, with highlight tech items including Google built-in technology and nine available camera views. There’s also a variety of standard safety tech features, such as Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, and Rear Park Assist, among others. The GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system is also available, complete with the latest trailering assist and automatic lane-change features.
The 2024 GMC Acadia once again offers the off-road-flavored AT4 trim level, which is equipped with a 1-inch taller ride height, a wider track, 18-inch AT tires, and exclusive Active Torque Control all-wheel drive with twin-clutch rear differentials, as well as unique exterior features like signature red tow hooks and integrated skid plates.
The Denali trim is once again offered as well, equipped as standard with one-touch folding second-row seats, unique trim accents, signature Denali Grille, and available 22-inch machined aluminum wheels.
All 2024 GMC Acadia variants feature the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as standard, as GM Authority was the first to report. Output is rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission is equipped as standard across the range. All-wheel-drive is optional. Properly equipped, the 2024 GMC Acadia will offer a max trailering rating of 5,000 pounds.
The all-new 2024 GMC Acadia will launch early in 2024. Production will take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant. Pricing and other details will be announced closer to production start.

Exterior is too understated but the look of the tech seems impressive. The engine output, GMC is giving what people want, but I’m sure others were hoping for a 6 cylinder option.
Is there anything in the works to replace the PERFECT SIZED Acadia for those who don’t need or want the new larger version?
Agree 100%. The current size Acadia (I could handle it being a little wider) is about perfect. Not everybody needs a Traverse size SUV. They have sold a lot of gen 2 Acadias. Another example of GM not listening to customers unless it fits their agenda. They really need to work on quality though. Our Gen 2 is turning into a rattlebox and a money pit.
