Here Is The All-New 2024 Cadillac GT4 Crossover

It’s been nearly a year since we first discovered the Cadillac GT4 via a patent image leak in China, and now, General Motors has just officially revealed the all-new 2024 Cadillac GT4 in the Asian country.

The automaker released the first images and official information of the all-new 2024 Cadillac GT4, the brand’s upcoming compact crossover that will expand the brand’s lineup in China – the only country where the manufacture and sale of this new model developed by the SAIC-GM joint venture has been confirmed so far. The Cadillac GT4 comes to position itself as the marque’s entry-level utility vehicle, everything indicates that it will remain exclusive for the Chinese market.

Based on the same GM E2 platform that underpins the Cadillac XT4, the all-new 2024 Cadillac GT4 stands out for introducing a new low-roof body style for the first time in Cadillac’s crossover lineup, with a bold stance and design proposition that seeks to attract a younger customer profile to the brand. For this reason, the new GT4 adopts a specific naming variant with the GT initials that sets it apart from the other crossovers in the lineup.

Aesthetically, the all-new 2024 Cadillac GT4 embraces the latest evolution of Cadillac’s Art & Science design language, with clean lines and streamlined shapes that reinforce its premium character. Highlights include the wide presentation of the shield-type grille and the new lighting signature with slimmer headlamps, which extend horizontally and vertically, giving the crossover a highly distinctive appearance characteristic of Cadillac.

As the spy photos showed, the interior of the 2024 Cadillac GT4 has a design inspired by that of the new Cadillac Lyriq EV, a layout that is gradually being extended to most of the Cadillac model portfolio. The new crossover features a two-tone cabin and a massive 33-inch curved 9K dual-screen panel that will come standard along with the highest level of connectivity. Colors and finishes will vary based on trim level.

The all-new 2024 Cadillac GT4 officially launched on May 28th in China along with two other new Cadillac vehicles during a joint launch event to mark the brand’s 20th anniversary in the Chinese market, as GM Authority reported last week. The new Cadillac GT4 will offer two powertrain options and will be manufactured at the SAIC-GM Dong Yue plant to supply the domestic market in that country.

  1. Looks like a modern station wagon, which is fine if that’s what you want. My kids are grown, I want a nice car.

  2. Tired of the boring SUV lineup. Give us something we want to buy.

    1. Rob:

Un-twist your panties. The GT4 isn’t being offered in the US.

Buyers want crossovers and SUVs. Cadillac is providing them, as well as 2 sedans.

Just what is it that “we” want to buy, anyhow?

      1. The SUV/CUV segment is hot and earns automakers extra profit 1) because they are marked up 2) they are built on non bespoke platforms: No need for Alpha or Omega here when a modernized version of old Epsilon will be adequate.
I am suprised Cadillac didn’t modify one if it’s platforms. Even Stellantis tweaked Giulia, but, Global Epsilon gets the job done.

  3. China, China, China. Washington says one thing, and Generous Motors says the opposite. Is that why GM stock stays on the low end? Come on, Mary; you’re too good of an engineer not to fire up this corporation.

    1. If you don’t like what’s going on in the current Washington, the 2024 election is not that far away for us to take our Country back. Look to France for the answer.

    2. She’s not an engineer. She has an MBA and worked in GM’s financial department. She doesn’t know a thing about product or customer service. Only reason she’s CEO is she has boobs and a financial background, so right after the bailout she looked like a smart choice (finance background) and now she’s social icon (first woman CEO) so she can’t be fired despite that GM’s lost market share every year she’s been CEO, is make less than when she was given the spot once you adjust for inflation and is now heavily invested in with Americans #1 adversary and openly admits it (China) if she didn’t have boobs she would have been gone 5 years ago

      1. I didn’t know that. Remarkably interesting. In the past, she was presented as an engineer, and since GM had some of the best in Michigan, which made sense at the Tech Center in Warren. Right now, our Michigan-grown leadership seems to be deriving their sales from other countries. Be careful……..

        1. Her undergraduate is eletrical engineering, then she did an MBA, and never did any career work as an engineer. Prior GM CEO’s had MENG (masters engineering sciences) degrees and actually worked on cars. While she knows how to read a wiring diagram from the 80’s she has no real experience on production or product.

I’d argue GM still has the best engineers around. Ford motor co tends to squash their engineers into dust, (their current CEO is from silicone valley) and toyota doesn’t green light anything from their engineering department. Germany has a engineering problem where it take engineers 8-10 year to graduate the most grueling engineering schools in the world by which time they’re dead inside, and it shows. The corvette, the camaro, the trucks, all tremendous products. GM dominates in North America and would globally if Toyota didn’t have legal monopolies in Asia

    3. I find it funny whenever I read comments Americans talk like China is their number one enemy. I’m Chinese, if you go to China and ask Chinese people what they think of Americans, they will tell you America is the most beautiful country in the world, and they look at American soldiers like they’re heroes. China loves America, China’s enemy is Japan and Germany.

  4. Mercedes Benz has sold something similar but with styling more like Envision. I like low roof line, but in general dislike SUVs. Would rather have a TourX or Volvo wagon

  5. Like it! Why not the US????

  6. Do not care what the offerings are outside the country I would be buying them in. It was like the time VW update the Scirrocco in the UK and it was a great-looking car. It had been killed in the US years before, so it did not matter what the UK got. The only thing I could get from that news was jealous.

That said, since I am not a fan of these mall-terrain xUVs, I would not be interested IF it were coming to the US.

  7. Yep, looks like every other one in the industry for years and years now.

  8. Don’t care about anything only offered outside of the country, especially China!

    1. Well, guess what, GM exists outside of the US, and so does the Internet, so maybe consider that other people want to find out what’s happening with GM in the rest of the world?

  9. This would sell like hotcakes here in the US!

  10. Car and Driver is reporting the GT4 could potentially come to the US. It is available as FWD or AWD, and offers two 4cyl turbo engines with HYBRID systems…a 1.5L and a 2.0L. It starts at the current US equivalent of $31K.

If it does come stateside, and is imported from China, that would be a total deal breaker. If they can build it in the US, Canada, Mexico, or even South Korea then it would be more enticing.

    1. I’m sure GM is keeping an eye on sales of the other new low-roof crossovers (Trax and Envista). If both of those are hits, I could see them trying the GT4 in the US as well. Like you said, they’d have to decide if it’s worth the investment to build it outside of China (they build the XT4, which shares the same platform, in Kansas City, so that’s a possibility).

  11. Another copy cat cookie cutter design with dash boards that look like an after thought with out built in features we like, constantly testing consumers thinking they will take it and get used to it,especially the knob shifter.CADILLAC used to stand alone for its styling and features this isn’t one of them unless you compare it to Kia,Hyundai and other non American Brands. Cadillac and GM are falling behind on what made them great in first place.Don’t sell GT4 here we deserve a REAL CADILLAC. Wake up GM!,!!

  12. Nice looking crossover but it won’t come to the states as a gas model since the XT5 won’t get redesign for the next generation model year due to going electric for the whole brand.

  14. Is it possible that the “GT” will expand with GT5, GT6 and GTalade. Take the XT’s and sporty wagon them.

  15. SInce it is based on the XT4 platform, it can be produced at the same plant with the XT4 occupying a higher level and price point. Get those younger buyers in!

  16. Hey, confused,

That’s an interesting comment you made. If that’s true, you guys should communicate your feelings more often. We do not see that message at all.
I understand your thinking; the beat is still going on……
