Massaging front seats have been introduced on the 2024 GMC Sierra HD, marking the first time the feature is offered on the heavy-duty pickup line. The massaging seats will be equipped as standard on the range-topping Denali Ultimate trim, a new trim level for the Sierra HD in the 2024 model year.
GM has assigned the following descriptions and RPO codes to the specific elements providing the massaging function.
- Driver 16-way power seat adjuster including lumbar and massage (RPO code A2X).
- Passenger 16-way power seat adjuster including lumbar and massage (RPO code A7K).
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate trim includes several other seat features as standard. The Denali Ultimate is equipped with the Driver memory feature (RPO code A45) which recalls driver presets. The driver can use this memory to set power driver seat and outside mirror positions, enabling several users of the vehicle to store their preferred adjustments for these features.
The Driver memory feature is also standard on the GMC Sierra HD’s SLT, AT4 and Denali trims. The Denali Ultimate also comes with three more seat functions as standard as shown below (with RPO codes in parentheses).
- Heated driver and front passenger seats (KA1)
- Ventilated driver and front passenger seats (KQV)
- Heated second-row outboard seats (KA6)
These three features are likewise standard on the AT4 and Denali trim levels. They are optionally available on the SLT trim as part of the SLT Convenience Package (RPO code PCY).
The 2024 GMC Sierra HDÂ ushers in a refresh of Big Red’s heavy-duty truck nameplate. New for the model year are two new trim levels, the aforementioned Denali Ultimate and the AT4X off-road variant. Besides this pair of trim level debuts, the Sierra HD gets an exterior makeover with front bumper, fascia, and grille revisions, six new exterior colors, and other styling updates.
The interior receives a unique interior treatment for SLE and SLT trim levels, while the AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims sport a premium interior design. The interior loses the front auxiliary 12-volt power outlet (RPO code KC5) in all trim levels except the Pro, while the rear auxiliary 12-volt power outlet (RPO code KPA) is omitted from all trims.
However, GM is giving the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD a lineup of new features and conveniences. These include rain-sensing wipers (RPO code CE1) on the SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims, IntelliBeam headlamps (RPO code TQ5) on all trim levels, and standard Wireless Phone Projection (RPO code PPW) for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other new additions to the GMC Sierra HD are Adaptive Cruise Control (RPO code KSG) as a new safety feature and a gross combination weight monitoring GCW Alert system for trailering. Both will help drivers manage the 2024 model year’s increased towing capacity, with max towing figures now rated 21,900 pounds for 2500HD Crew Cab models, 22,500 pounds for 2500HD, and 36,000 pounds for 3500HD.
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD configurator is now live. Production of the refreshed truck is now under way, with the AT4X to launch later in 2023.

Hey GM Design: Looking at the front grill, I really think you missed it by not including 15 more grill rows. Take the entire grill from the top of the hood, down to the bottom spoiler. No, scratch that. Begin the grill about halfway up the hood, then work down to the oil pan……….

Yea I agree what’s up with GM’s design language? Just like the Silverado it’s ruined
Its true though, we need to have the 2017 design back on these though.
The removal of the 12v power outlets is just ridiculous. Those items are still very much used in today’s vehicles. That was not a very good idea GM.
Glad I’m not the only one.
Another USELESS option!
We have enough people falling asleep behind the wheel causing collisions now. So we HEAT the seat which is a very good option but now “Massage” the driver into relaxing and subsequently falling asleep. If we had self-driving vehicles that were proven to be safe and reliable, I could understand this option but NOT when people have trouble just driving down the road.
Remember your 1st heated steering wheel? i do.
it was back on a 2010. at the time, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever, but it was game changer. it became an immediate must have on all future vehicles.
i’m now on my 2nd vehicle with massaging seats and i am considering GMC 2500 Ultimate with a VERY ugly, brown-stained interior and a diesel that is useless to me, simply because massaging seats are my new must have.
if you want to talk USELESS, we had heated and cooled front cup holders on the 1st car we had with massaging seats. i can’t tell you how many times i burned my fingers getting my keys from the cup holder. i used to toss them in there before i got into the car and say “Jordan” (cuz I’m that old) and hit the heat button.
I have been hoping for the massaging seats. I have sciatica and cannot drive long without pain. Have to pull over and walk a while. The massager, with the seat heater going too, will allow me to enjoy my truck on long drives. Thanks GM.
Super cruise would be much more useful than a massaging seats. It will make long distance trailing much safer and convenient. I will trust the system to follow only not to overtake while trailing thou.
My biggest disappointment with GMC is that they discontinued the SLT for the 2024 double cab long box. This successfully cancelled my factory order and sent me to the Silverado LTZ. Really unfortunate as I liked the front of the GMC more.
More Chinese parts to fail.
Wonder when GM is going to offer rear ventilated seats like many other brands do on their top tier trim levels.
I’m also not a fan of the interior layout. Looks as if they got lazy and just recycled the 1500 interior with no shifter. So now there’s this odd space for something taking up potential storage. I’m curious as to how safe the brake controller is in the drop zone as well as the two media ports. I see Chevy got smart and kept them elevated on the dash. I’d hate for a short or inadvertent brake check with my 17k pound trailer all because they wanted a new flashy push start button. $100k for the most advanced truck and no more 12v outlets?! Did the maybe $50 in parts break the budget? These power a handful of things I use for towing, camping and working that USBs can’t power. Not to mention it’s nice to power things while the truck is off. Hopefully in time they’ll make the right call and bring them back as an option.
I won’t buy another Chevrolet. my 2022 3500 started on fire at the block heater. I have not heard nothing back from Chevy yet. Very poor customer service.
