2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST To Feature Flat-Bottomed Steering Wheel

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition will come with a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel – making it the first Chevy truck available with this steering wheel design.

Interior photos of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition show the battery-electric truck equipped with a sporty looking flat-bottom steering wheel. This wheel will be available on this Silverado EV trim level and will be the first Chevy pickup offered with a flat-bottom wheel such as this.

For readers who may not know, flat-bottom steering wheels are typically seen in sports cars and other performance vehicles and were first introduced in racing to give the driver additional clearance between their legs and the bottom of the steering wheel. They serve little purpose in road-going performance vehicles apart from aesthetics, but have become a desired feature among buyers of these vehicles over the years.

The Silverado EV RST First Edition’s flat-bottom wheel will feature silver accents and a centrally mounted RST badge with contrasting red-painted lettering. The standard steering wheel on the pickup, as seen on the WT trim level, will feature a regular round shape, along with similar silver trim accents. The RST wheel also appears to be leather-wrapped with double-stitching, although both feature the same or similar multi-function button array.

Chevy Silverado EV WT steering wheel

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition will come standard with a dual-motor powertrain producing 664 horsepower with more than 780 pound-feet of torque, helping it hustle from zero to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. This trim level will also come with standard four-wheel steering, automatic adaptive air suspension and trailering-capable Super Cruise. Pricing for this trim will start at $105,000 before destination and freight when the truck goes on sale in the fall of 2023.

GM has so far received roughly 140,000 reservations for the Chevy Silverado EV between the RST First Edition and WT trim levels. The truck will be produced at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan alongside the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV.

  1. The flat steering wheel does more then look good, it make it a lot easier to get out of the Corvette. when you park and the door can’t be open all the way,

  2. I hope the rest of their trucks (ice) don’t go to this. It will make steering on the straightaways, with your legs/knees alot harder. Unless all the trucks get the self drive mode with updated software for non asphalt roads. ****

  6. The RST Chevrolet Silverado is over priced
And it only goes 400 miles. But the new dodge ram ev can go 500 miles and cost in the 50,000 rage. You guys need to lower the price so that us people that are retired and on a fixed income can buy 1. Thanks I love the truck

    1. ROBB , you could only wish and hope it go’s even 250 miles much less 4 or 5 hundred. even the new hummer has * ** *** stating it won’t get the 350 miles there promising. Look at the Volt , there all recalled. The new Ford Transit electric, same crap , they said 220 miles, there getting only 80 – 120 miles , and they can’t even make it thru service
call ‘s in one day for electricians and plumbers. they are rushing this technology for Brandon , warren, and the squad, and americans are going to pay the price in a few years when these 100K + vehicles are junk and worth salvage value sitting in a driveway. Hell , GM just bought back over 3500 HD trucks and they been building these for 2 decades. America spent 100 years perfecting a gas motor, and in 3 years time there going to perfect an EV , Hell NO. Lighting, silverado EV, Rams new one everyone that buys is a Ginny pig

  9. It Looks like a Honda Pick up . Looking to purchase a Silverado but the body style
is not a Chevrolet type in my mind. The distance around 350 miles is kind of low.
One would think 400 plus would be the way to go.
One piece body style really won’t appeal to myself living outside of the big city .
Yet, can’t see city dwellers trying to park this in their small stalls.
