Noteworthy 2022 Chevy Suburban changes and updates over the 2021 model include the introduction of Buckle To Drive as standard on all models, the standardization of Front and Rear Park Assist on all trims, expanded availability of the 6.2L L87 V8 EcoTec3 engine, which is now available on RST and Z71 models via two new packages: Sport Performance Package and Off-Road Performance Package.

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban is assembled by GM USA at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas. Both the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban went into production on October 4th of this year, as previously reported exclusively by GM Authority. The two Chevy models, along with their GMC (Yukon / Yukon XL) and Cadillac (Escalade / Escalade ESV) platform mates are the only models whose production GM didn’t idle during the ongoing microchip shortage. The automaker was able to do so by allocating chips from its vehicle lines to the full-size SUVs.

  1. Oh goodie, another dull, uninspiring gray color ! It is hard to tell all the gray colors apart.

    1. I wish it were more gray. I got the 2022 Suburban LT in Dark Ash Metallic, and it’s dang near black with a trace of blue in certain light. Certainly not as light as my computer showed when I ordered it.

  2. What is with all of these dark funeral colors. Chevrolet / GM has put out one hell of a nice looking Suburban, but all those undesirable dark colors. Maybe a Silver Ice Matalic could be a color choice one day? I’ve got a Empire Beige Matalic / Premier on order at this time.
