The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban will introduce a new Off-Road Performance Package for customers who desire a little more capability out of their full-size SUV.
The new Off-Road Performance Package is tagged with RPO code RGN and is available as optional equipment on the Z71 trim level for both the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban. The package includes the following equipment:
- 6.2L V8 engine (RPO L87)
- Dual twin polished stainless-steel exhaust tips (RPO N10)
The Off-Road Performance Package requires customers to also select the Off-Road Capability Package (RPO Z6E), which adds the following equipment to the SUV:
- Magnetic Ride Control (RPO Z95)
- Air Ride Adaptive suspension (RPO F47)
- Electronic limited-slip differential (RPO G96)
Additionally, the Off-Road Capability Package requires owners also select the Max Trailering Package (RPO NHT) and the Luxury Package (RPO RFP). Customers can also apply the equipment from the Off-Road Performance Pacakge by selecting the available Z71 Off-Road Package.
The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban will enter production at the GM Arlington Assembly plant on October 4th. Both the Tahoe and Suburban were completely redesigned for the 2021 model year and as such, they will receive only minor changes for 2022, including new colors and small changes to the features and content within trim levels.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban both feature the 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine as standard, which is rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The available 6.2L V8 L87, meanwhile, makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, there’s the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, which is the only diesel engine offered in this segment. It produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, giving customers a torque-rich engine option that won’t guzzle fuel at quite the same rate as a gasoline V8. All three engines are paired with GM’s Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission.

A fully digital cluster will also be included in the new SUVs since the updated Silverado and Sierra are getting them as well.
My gut is that you are wrong – and that they are different screens. Here is is the exact info from GMA.
the 22 Tahoe/Suburban Version (RPO Code: UDV) is officially called “12-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Digital Driver Information Center”
the 22 Silverado language says “12.3-inch configurable instrument cluster”
My gut is that the Silverado is powered by Android Automotive OS and is more feature rich, and the Tahoe/Suburban is a more basic cluster. I would guess its a true derivative of the 4 and 8 inch models currently in use on the ’21s.
I hope I’m wrong and that you are right, though.
Also, here are all part names/descriptions:
4″: 4.2-inch Driver Information Center with analog speedometer and tachometer (RPO code UDD)
8″: 8-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Driver Information Center with analog speedometer and tachometer (RPO code UHS)
12″: 12-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Digital Driver Information Center (RPO Code: UDV)
and lastly
12.3-inch configurable instrument cluster
Since they have changed the language and words within the description, I believe this is further proof they are different given that the Silverado’s part name has been decidedly changed. This could change with release of RPO Codes and official, public facing marketing.
Why no 6.2 option for the RST model. My 2019 6.2 RST 4 Wheel is great. Myrtle may be a big girl but she will pick them up and put them down on street and in the dirt. The only i thing i would change is the muffle its too muffled.
It will be available on the RST with the Sport Performance Package which includes (L87) 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, (Z95) Magnetic Ride Control and (N10) dual twin polished stainless-steel exhaust tips. RPO WBL
That was probably going to be tomorrow’s article and we just spoiled it. 😐
