GM continues to sell down aged inventory of the Chevy Silverado Medium Duty chassis cab truck. As of the end of August, there were 800 units left of the 2020 Silverado MD models and around 2,500 units of the 2021 models left across U.S. Chevy dealers, GM Authority has learned. By comparison, there were 1,000 units and 2,500 units, respectively, at the end of July.
That means that roughly 200 of the 2020 Silverado MD models got moved, while inventory of the current 2021 Silverado MD models remained roughly the same. To note, the 2022 model won’t enter production until the 2022 calendar year.

---|---|---|
End of July 2021 | 1,000 | 2,500 |
End of August 2021 | 800 | 2,500 |
The Silverado MD has performed very well in recent months. In Q2 of 2021, sales increased 79 percent compared with the same period the year prior. And during the first six months of 2020, sales increased 80 percent to 4,912 units.

This has made a small but not-insignificant contribution to cumulative Silverado sales, which improved nine percent during the first six months of 2021. The Chevy Silverado 1500 Light Duty pickup truck on its own is the most popular Chevrolet (and GM) model in the United States, without the help of its Medium Duty and Heavy Duty relatives.
In fact, the Silverado MD family – made up of the 4500HD, 5500HD and 6500HD – is not a very close relative to the Silverado LD (1500) or Silverado HD (2500HD and 3500HD). Despite its nameplate and the fact that it uses the same cab as the previous-generation, K2-based Silverado HD, it rides on a very different platform that was developed jointly by GM and Navistar.
However, the Silverado Medium Duty’s connection with other Chevy Silverado models is more evident when considering that it’s powered by the 6.6L L5D V8 turbo-diesel Duramax engine. Currently the only engine available for the Silverado MD, the eight-cylinder turbo-diesel is very closely related to the 6.6L V8 L5P used in the Silverado HD family (2500HD and 3500HD).

Send your Silverado’s to New Zealand and we the contractors and Farmers would buy them . Price needs to be reasonable .
I understand your laws about where the steering wheel are, among other things, are quite stringent. I imagine the conversion costs would be prohibitive.
You cant find a F-450 Ford no were right now , yet GM has 3500 medium dutys spread out over the last 3 years still remaining in inventory , every day, GM mistakes , cheap quality , high prices for under powered trucks, cheap blown plastic interiors , and a crap products dont sell even to people that are desperately needing a truck
The Chevy medium duty is a much better truck all around than a Ford F-450 or 550, I can tell you that from first hand experience.
Most people in the medium duty category are purchasing “work trucks” most likely driven by an employee. So I don’t know why interiors are a big deal to you. I was pleasantly surprised that the “new” 2018 GMC 3500 WT my boss purchased 2 years ago had power windows, the 2008 it replaced didn’t.
yes thats your opinion of the medium duty, but when your GM and only moving a unit or two a day in the medium duty series something it not right now is it. GM cuts a lot of corners, its all about profit only now, you know it , I know it. I own all 3 of the big 3 , 2019 denali 2500, 2021 Ram 3500, 2022 Ford F350, gm by far is the cheapest quality inside and out, yet I like the smoothness of duramax and it has a good ride , The Ram cummins HO will pull anything you want and pick up the load with air ride, the ford is all around easy, fast, pulls good , good looking truck , fords are user friendly.
