General Motors has rolled out a new Chevrolet Silverado Redline Concept at the 2019 SEMA Show.
The Chevrolet Silverado Redline Concept is based on a 2020 Silverado RST. The concept Redline Package includes black door handles, a black grille, high-intensity LED headlamps with black bezels, red recovery tow hooks, black dual exhaust tips, four-inch black tubular assist steps, black mirror caps with red striped accents, 20-inch black painted wheels with trademark red accent striping, and black Silverado nameplates with red accents.
GM says the “Redline Edition was highly popular on the previous-generation Silverado and returns for this concept, showing the possibilities when you combine Silverado strength with an urban look and Chevrolet Accessories.”
Since the Silverado Redline Concept is based on the production Silverado RST, it also features body-color front and rear bumpers, LED fog lamps, LED cargo area lighting, a power release tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen and other add-ons.
The Silverado Redline concept is also equipped with a Chevrolet Performance Exhaust and Cold Air Intake kit that adds 12 horsepower.
The previous Chevrolet Silverado Redline featured much of the same equipment, with red tow hooks, red accented alloy wheels, black painted side steps, a black painted grille, black Chevrolet Bow Tie emblems and black Silverado emblems setting it apart from standard versions of the pickup. Similar to this new Silverado Redline Concept, the previous-generation Silverado Redline was previewed with a concept at the 2015 SEMA Show, before it was put into production for the 2017 model year.
GM appears to be investigating a return of the Redline Special Edition for the Silverado. Several other models in the Chevrolet family already have the Redline treatment, including the Equinox and Trax. In addition, a Camaro Redline Edition will also debut for the 2020 model year. The Camaro LT1 Convertible Concept, which also debuted at the 2019 SEMA Show, seems to preview the new Camaro Redline with its various red accents as well as red and black exterior decals.
