The four GM vehicles in the space – the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, as well as their all-new cousins, the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Buick Encore GX – accounted for a cumulative 66,643 deliveries. By comparison, Stellantis’ three rivals – the Jeep Compass, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X – accounted for 36,221 deliveries. Meanwhile, Hyundai (Kona and Venue) and Kia (Seltos, Niro, Soul) saw 66,682 deliveries. The figures give GM 24 percent of the segment, equal to 24 percent for Hyundai-Kia and 13 percent for Stellantis (previously Fiat Chrysler Automobiles).
However, a strong argument can be made that the Kia Soul is not part of the segment in question, but is rather in a segment below based on its size and price point. Removing the Soul from the Hyundai-Kia results nets 49,491 deliveries for an 18 percent share.
The mainstream subcompact crossover segment expanded 28 percent to 274,879 units during Q1 2021.

The GM Authority Take
After placing toward the bottom of the pack in Q3, Chevy Trailblazer sales took a leap in Q4, becoming the fifth-best-selling model in the segment despite also being the newest, while also facing internal competition from the more affordable Chevy Trax. The Trailblazer continued to climb in Q1 2021, taking second place in the segment.
We attribute the jump in Q1 to better availability of the vehicle at the dealer level, though inventory has not yet reached optimal levels.
Going forward, we expect Trailblazer sales and market share to continue growing, especially in the near-term future as inventory begins to further improve during 2021 and beyond. Assuming that supply can keep up with demand, we expect the Trailblazer to continue to hold one of the top-selling spots in the segment.

Might want to recheck your calculations! Hyundai/Kia would also have 24% market share.
(Drinks water, clears throat)…La Kia is better……😉
Notice Trax and TB is cleaning up..
it will interesting to see what happens when the new honda hrv comes out later this year.
Genuinely surprised with how well GM is selling. Especially since the Trailblazer is brand new, I can see it easily taking number 1 later this year if it continues this trajectory
I didn’t know they sold them in this country. Never seen one on the road. But since all the crossovers blend in I’m sure I never took notice.
GM was right, who needs to sell small cars.
Can’t believe how close Chevrolet is to Honda in the segment. Am suprised Renegade and CX 30 (my favorite) are so weak.
GM dominates because Buick can contribute. GM needs more Buicks (like Hyundai has Kia) in more segments that can compete
Normally, the Honda is a distant also-ran. I believe Q1 2021 is an anomaly as it relates to Honda. The same goes for Jeep Compass – it’s typically among the top three, but supply issues might have been in play during Q1.
Impressive at any rate.
Barra and Co deserve credit: Chevrolet is no longer a damaged brand in the US with entries like Trailblazer battling Honda for top slot without extreme amounts of money on the hood.
This becomes more clear when you notice even Trax, Enclave GX and Enclave besting both Ford and Toyota. Trailblazer and Mazda CX-30 are great, feel larger than their respective segment.
