The 2024 GMC Terrain represents the seventh model year of the second-generation compact crossover, for which it receives a handful of minor changes.
These changes follow the 2022 Terrain, which received a mid-cycle refresh, followed by an engine replacement for the 2023 Terrain. The 2025 Terrain will receive a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign) for the third generation crossover.

Production
Production of the 2024 GMC Terrain began in May 2023 at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico. Production of the 2024 model year is expected to end roughly a year later to make room for the all-new 2025 model Terrain.
Platform
Like all second-generation Terrains, the 2024 GMC Terrain continues to ride on the GM D2Â platform.
Seating
The 2024 Terrain is offered in a single seating configuration, with two bucket seats in the front (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 split bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 2-3 setup.
Beyond 2024
The 2024 model year will be the last for the current, second-generation Terrain. An all-new, next-generation Terrain is set to launch for the 2025 model year.
