- What: an all-new GMC Terrain compact crossover utility vehicle that will represent the third generation of the nameplate, after the second-gen Terrain was introduced in 2017
- When: we expect the next GMC Terrain to launch in the 2023 calendar year timeframe as a 2023 model year vehicle
- Why: an all-new Terrain is highly important for GMC, as the model remains a best-seller for the brand in the competitive and lucrative compact mainstream crossover segment

Body Styles
We expect the upcoming future GMC Terrain to continue being available as a compact four-door crossover.
Price
We expect the next GMC Terrain to carry similar pricing as the current, second-gen model, with prices starting in the $25,000 range.
Platform
We expect the next-gen GMC Terrain to ride on GM’s VSS-F platform (vehicle set strategy) shared with all future front-drive GM cars and crossovers.
Powertrain
We expect the next GMC Terrain to feature an all-new powertrain, including an all-new engine and transmission set.
Production
It is currently unclear where the GMC Terrain will be assembled. The current-, second-generation model is assembled at the GM San Luis Potosi factory by GM Mexico.
