2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets the following updates and changes:

Exterior

Deletion of Oakwood Metallic exterior color
Deletion of WT Appearance Package
Chrome bumpers are now free flow on 1WT
- For the 2019 model year, chrome bumpers were included and only available with (R13) WT Appearance Package or WT Safety Package for WT models, and were standard on LT and LTZ models
- For the 2020 model year, chrome bumpers require Durabed, are only included with the WT Safety Package, and remain standard on LT and LTZ models
17-inch Bight silver painted aluminum wheels (Q5U) are now free flow on 1WT
- For the 2019 model year, the Q5U wheels were included in the LT equipment group, and were also included and only available with the Appearance Package on WT models
- For the 2020 model year, the wheels remain available for WT and LT models, however, they are not available on WT models equipped with the Snow Plow Prep Package
Addition of auto-dimming feature to Vertical Trailering Mirror (DQS)
- The RPO code for the Vertical Trailering Mirror without auto-dimming is DPO, and it was available on Silverado Custom models for the 2019 model year
- For the 2020 model year, Vertical Trailering Mirrors without the auto-dimming feature are available on all models except for Silverado Custom Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country trim levels
  - For WT models, the addition of Vertical Trailering Mirrors requires WT Convenience Package or WT Value Packagem and either the Trailering Package or pickup bed delete
    - It includes the auto-dimming inside rearview mirror
  - For Silverado Custom models, Vertical Trailering Mirrors are included and only available with the Custom Max Trailering Package
  - For LT and RST models, Vertical Trailering Mirrors require the Trailering Package, and includes the auto-dimming inside rearview mirror
  - For LT Trail Boss models, Vertical Trailering Mirrors include the auto-dimming inside rearview mirror

- UVS is included and only available with the Technology Package
- Chevy recommends ordering the (TRO) Auxiliary Trailer Camera (LPO-level item) if transparent trailer camera view is desired
Technology Package now includes (UVN) Bed View Camera
- On LT models:
  - Bed View Camera is included and only available with Trailer Camera Package
- On LTZ and High Country models:
  - Included and only available with Technology Package or Trailer Camera Package
(PTT) Tire Pressure Monitor System becomes (PTT) Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors

Mechanical

10-speed transmission is now standard on LT Trail Boss models and 4WD High Country models with 5.3L L84 EcoTec3 V8 DFM engine
- For the 2019 model year,
2.7L L3B Turbo engine is now available on 1WT Work Truck and 1CX Custom models
6.2L L87 EcoTec3 V8 engine is now available on Custom Trail Boss, RST and LT Trail Boss
