The 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE Is Under Constraint

The 2023 Chevy Camaro is the eighth model year for the current sixth-generation sports car, dropping in as one of the sixth-gen Camaro’s last model years before its forthcoming discontinuation following the conclusion of the 2024 model year. Critically, the 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE is now facing a constraint due to the limited availability of a component in the track-oriented 1LE package. The constraint is the result of a supplier issue.

According to GM Authority sources, units of the 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 equipped with the 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package (RPO code A1Z) are currently under constraint due to a supplier issue related to the exposed weave carbon fiber rear spoiler (RPO code T42), which is in short supply at the moment.

The 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package is priced at $7,500, and is normally only available for the Chevy Camaro ZL1 coupe. The Chevy Camaro ZL1 convertible does not offer the 1LE package.

Contents of the 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package include (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Performance Suspension with DSSV dampers
  • Red calipers (FEA)
  • Satin Black hood wrap (DSM)
  • Exposed Carbon Fiber weave hood insert (CFW)
  • Exposed weave carbon fiber rear spoiler (T42)
  • Low-gloss Black outside rearview mirrors
  • Dark tail lamps
  • Front dive planes
  • Unique front splitter with lower DRL deleted
  • 305/30R19 front and 325/30R19 rear, blackwall, summer-only tires (R6O)
  • 19-inch low gloss Black-painted forged aluminum wheels (PKJ)
  • Rear fixed seat (A62)
  • Specific ratios when 6-speed manual transmission is ordered

Just last month, GM Authority reported that several 2023 Chevy Camaro options and packages are now unavailable to order, including options spanning both the interior and exterior of the sports car, such as Design Package 2, Design Package 3, the Ground Effects Package, the Carbon Flash Metallic front splitter, and more. It’s unclear if these options will become available to order again before the end of the 2023 model year, or at all.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Camaro ZL1 cradles the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, rated at 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Under the skin is the GM Alpha platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  2. Nothing new ZLE has been on restraint most of the model year already. Wonder if there will be any built for ‘24?

    1. Yep…
Why not just sell them without the wing?

  3. Finally sold my 2014 SS 2 months ago after waiting in vain for GM to update the car…
Loved it and got thousands of compliments over the years but GM basically left the pony-car market and I had to look elsewhere.
    Bummer for a ‘GM guy”…

    1. Have had my 2015 2SS almost 3 years now, compliments all the time. Clean, 3 stage color correction, ceramic coat, multiple smart mods.
The car could be lighter, with more power yes. However, buying it used got a good deal. Would have to get a deal on a 6th gen. Personally think the 5th gen is the better looking vehicle..

      1. I loved that car. Bought it new and she had over 180,000 miles on the odometer when I let her go.
Had to replace the water pump and 1 cat that literally blew apart after the warranty died and that’s about all the problems I had with it.
Can’t bitc* about that with the miles I pounded into that car. Lol

    1. Not looking good bruv, ordered from one dealership back in december 2022 still no word. and ordered thru another “high volume” dealership in March of this year and still no luck. Looking to reach out to other dealerships out of province in canada for some luck. I also ordered Red hot 2023 2ss 1le but i’m also open to rapid blue color as well.

      1. Thanx for info. My dealership got an allocation for a ZL1. I thought it was strange when my salesman asked if I wanted to cancel my SS 1LE order and build the ZL1. I declined, but based on this info I might accept the ZL1 proposal.
