GM launched the updated 2025 Cadillac XT6 this past November, debuting the refreshed three-row crossover at the 2024 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China. Among the features on offer are a pair of captain’s chairs for the second row, providing even more comfort for rear-seated passengers. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the Chinese-market 2025 Cadillac XT6’s Executive second-row seats.
The captain’s chairs are upholstered in high-quality leather, with quilted stitching that brings some impressive attention to detail. The seats are equipped with six-way adjustable headrests for personalized support, catering to passengers of various heights and preferences. Each chair also features a two-section armrest, offering ample cushioning and an ergonomic design for added comfort. Further seat highlights include an electric adjustment feature, which allows passengers to easily modify their seating position. Moreover, a massage function is included to enhance the experience even further, and is ideal for long journeys. Both heated and ventilated functionalities ensure year-round comfort, accommodating a variety of climates.
Back in North America, the Cadillac XT6 lineup offers seating flexibility, including the option for either second-row captain’s chairs or a bench seat. The optional captain’s chairs are available on Premium Luxury and Sport trims, with the Luxury trim offered exclusively with a rear bench seat. In both configurations, the second-row outboard seats are heated.
Meanwhile, the Chinese-market 2025 Cadillac XT6 includes a few extra features, including ventilated second-row seats, which are not offered for the North American XT6. However, for North American consumers seeking an elevated rear-seat experience akin to the Chinese-spec XT6’s Executive package, Cadillac provides similar offerings via the full-size Escalade and the all-electric Escalade IQ, both of which offer executive-style second-row seats with comparable features, catering to those who prioritize maximum luxury and rear-seated passenger comfort.
As for the mechanical bits, the Chinese-spec 2025 Cadillac XT6 is equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, while production for the Chinese market takes place at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant in Shanghai.
