Some BrightDrop Vans Will Need A New Windshield Wiper Assembly

Certain BrightDrop vans need windshield wiper assemblies replaced, according to a recently released Customer Satisfaction Program from General Motors.

According to the bulletin, heavy snowfall has damaged the windshield wiper linkage on certain units. Dealers can replace the windshield wiper assembly, arms, and blades at no cost for affected vans. Presumably, vans in cold climates with heavy snowfall in winter are the ones affected by the issue.

The models that may need new windshield wiper assemblies include the following, according to Customer Satisfaction Program number N242437230. Apparently, the rebranded 2025 Chevy BrightDrop 600 is unaffected.:

These vehicles are marked in the GM Global Warranty Management system, with their Investigate Vehicle History screen containing the notice “Open” to indicate the repairs are needed. The windshield wiper assembly replacement requires a new windshield wiper transmission, arms, blades, and nuts that secure the arms. The process requires approximately an hour to complete.

The customer satisfaction program is in effect until September 30th, 2026.

Another recent BrightDrop service bulletin from August alerted owners that certain 2023 and 2024 model-year vans may have a condition where water leaks from the windshield area. The leak is caused by myriad factors that inhibit the ability of the factory-installed sealants to seal the upper structure. To rectify this problem, certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect affected vehicles and install new roof panel joint front finish moldings, which feature multiple design changes to improve their ability to mitigate water leaks.

In other recent BrightDrop news, the electric commercial vans have moved from their own GM brand into the Chevrolet brand for the 2025 model year. The 2025 Chevy BrightDrop is priced starting at $78,625 for the 400 model and $80,125 for the longer 600 model in their respective FWD variants. Production is underway at the GM CAMI plant in Canada, and the vans were recently confirmed for the Mexican market.
