The GMC Savana is positively ancient by automotive standards, initially launching all the way back in 1996, with a refresh introduced for 2003. Nevertheless, the GMC Savana, alongside its Bow Tied equivalent, the Chevy Express, soldiers on for the 2025 model year with relatively few changes compared to the preceding 2024 model year. Even so, the 2025 GMC Savana is considerably pricier than equivalent 2024-model-year trims and configurations.
The least-expensive 2025 GMC Savana on offer is the Work Van Cutaway 3500 with the 139-inch wheelbase and the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine, which starts at $38,845. Meanwhile, the most-expensive 2025 GMC Savana on offer is the LT Passenger 3500 Extended Wheelbase configuration with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which starts at $54,840.

With regard to the mechanical bits, the GMC Savana offers two powerplant options, including the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine, which produces 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Going nowhere in this market—-while Ford is prospering.
Ford Van Sales Up 19 Percent During Q2 2024
Best-selling Transit accounted for 71 percent, or over two-thirds, of all deliveries.
“Best-selling Transit accounted for 71 percent, or over two-thirds, of all deliveries.”
Because Ford actually has their # together in production and delivery.
The Transit is mediocre at best, but dominates because you can GET IT. Fleets who need vehicles don’t need runaround, and the market has spoken. The Transit does NOT sell because it’s V6 only and costs more, and unreal GM can’t (or won’t) see that.
What you’re saying is true.
But the fact remains they are selling a lot of vans.
If it priced too high this is unacceptable to me and they have removed options and have not really improved or changed anything so it should be cheaper. Not that it needs improving or change but anything can be improved.
Don’t charge me too much because it might p iss me off to go to Ford and it’s so UGHLEE and so is the RAM! Except for the high top but it won’t fit in my garage but I’ll gladly park it outside if I have too and leave my garage open for more “stuff”. Don’t want to do that so don’t charge me too much more.
I actually expect the price to go down or at least, remain the same.
I bought a ‘24 Savana 3500 LT with every option except fleet stuff and it stickered at about the base price of a ‘25! How does GM justify the huge price increases over and over on a vehicle which has less content and hasn’t been meaningfully updated in 20 years? It’s absurd that the interior today is identical to a 2014 – even the same fabric, but with fewer options available.
