General Motors has released a Customer Satisfaction Program for select units of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 for a series of software updates.
Bulletin number N242444180 applies to certain units of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 that may require a comprehensive software update to improve the customer experience and optimize future over-the-air updates. This should take certified GM technicians less than one hour to perform.
It’s unclear at this time how many XT4 units are covered by this Customer Satisfaction Program. It specifically applies only to 2024 models, and it’s in effect until October 31st, 2026.
The Cadillac XT4 was refreshed for the 2024 model year, and this isn’t the first time it’s had issues addressed by GM. In February, GM issued a service update for a problem with the projected logo lamp on its hands-free power liftgate. In May, it was the subject of a noncompliance recall remedying a problem with its parking lamps. In the same month, GM released a fix for a transmission fluid leak that affected all three of Cadillac’s crossovers: the XT4, XT5, and XT6. Just last month, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 had an odd recall regarding the owner’s manual’s language around child restraint anchorage systems.
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 brought updated exterior and interior designs and new tech features. One of the biggest highlights of this compact luxury crossover is the 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED color touchscreen, the design of which was inspired by the electric Cadillac Lyriq. The 2024 XT4 also offers an AKG 14-speaker audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, more interior color and trim choices, and more standard safety tech features.
As for what’s under the hood, the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 carries over the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at 235 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Output is directed through the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available to put it to the pavement.

More than a dozen years after Tesla started to do OTA updates, GM still hasn’t updated all of its electrical architectures to do the same thing. So the customers now have to waste their time going into the dealer to have software updated. It’s also a waste of the mechanics time. Perhaps by 2040, GM may have the ability to do this OTA. Pathetic.
How does this waste mechanics time, they get paid to do the update. You make it seem like mechanics have to do it for free. Besides this is just for customer satisfaction, so you do whenever you bring the car in for service.
They probably get paid pennies on the dollar for this flat rate warranty work. And if something goes wrong, and they have to restart the process, thats a free hour.
No, it pays however much time it takes to complete the update. If somthing goes wrong there is somthing called other labor hours. You will be compensated to do whatever it takes to complete the job. Been working for cadillac for years so i know. Get your information correct and stop spreading misinformation.
If it’s not the tech’s mistake, sure, but warranty work is the lowest paying work by quite some margin.
The CT5 & CT4 can OTA ..
Just bought a new one three weeks ago. Hope I’m not included. Had to drive two plus hours to Memphis to buy, as the local dealer 45 minutes away in Tupelo dropped the Cadillac franchise after about 70 years rather than spend hundreds of thousands to be able to sell and service EV.
The styling of the XT4 is very attractive and appealing. What’s especially ugly though is that stupid and pathetic four cylinder engine Cadillac is putting in their SUV’s. Why couldn’t they at least continue to offer an optional V6 engine?
Carbon Credits + Cost Cutting
China rules and sales are the reason for the 2 liter 4 cylinder.
Reasoning behind this update is it is supposed to help the OTA enabled updates in the future…
Had the update more like 2 hrs car seems happy
