The General has released a Customer Satisfaction Program containing a fix for an issue affecting certain units of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV, in which a rattling sound and/or wind noise is produced by the Infinity Roof (RPO code CF7) removable roof panels while driving.
GM Customer Satisfaction Program N242468850 offers the fix for both 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup and 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV units that are affected by the roof panel noise problem.
The fix offered by the Customer Satisfaction Program does not require replacement of the removable roof panels. Authorized GM service personnel are instructed to adjust the I-bar pocket receiver until the rattling and/or wind noise is corrected. The remedy requires 8 washers, plus AC Delco Super Lube Spray for the window seals and AC Delco Super Lube Paste for the receiver pockets.
As a note on availability of the Infinity Roof, which includes the removable transparent Sky Panels that are involved in the current Customer Satisfaction Program, the feature is a $1,495 option on the Hummer EV 2X and 3X trim levels. However, it is included as a standard feature on the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1, 2024 SUV Omega Edition and 2024 Pickup Omega Edition.
The fix is available free of charge for Hummer EV owners of affected vehicles through September 30th, 2026. The GM Global Warranty Management system should be consulted to ensure a specific vehicle is involved in the customer satisfaction program before proceeding.
The repair requires approximately an hour to complete, including an 18-minute test drive to ensure the noise issue is eliminated.
As a reminder, both variants of the EV are motivated by a drivetrain setup featuring two or three GM Ultium Drive motors drawing power from GM Ultium battery technology. The GM BT1 platform underpins both the Pickup and SUV variants of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant (formerly known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan.
