Sports car sales aren’t exactly booming right now, and that’s doubly so for convertible sports cars. Nevertheless, there are still some diehard enthusiasts out there that prefer performance with a twist of blue sky. Now, we’re catering to those folks with the following modern-day 2025 Pontiac GTO Convertible rendering.
Following up on the 2025 Pontiac GTO Coupe that we rendered last week, we should begin by stating that, for now at least, there’s no indication that GM is bringing back the GTO, or Pontiac for that matter. While many will no doubt recall the “Pontiac Is Back” advertisement that ran in a popular automotive magazine in May, that ad was unfortunately little more than a joke. That said, the prospect of GM resurrecting Pontiac from the dead inspired a huge amount of renewed interest in the brand, thus giving us the motivation to reimagine what the legendary GTO might look like as a new drop-top convertible for the 2025 model year.
Using our 2025 Pontiac GTO Coupe as a starting point, this new 2025 GTO Convertible rendering once again shows off dual intakes in the front fascia, with a prominent center dividing ridge proudly displaying the Pontiac logo. Large intakes were also used in the corners of the fascia, while a horizontal intake is placed lower in the bumper.
The headlights are narrow and angular, adding to the sporty feel of the front end. The hood complements the feel with two smaller intakes placed high and towards the windshield.
The color scheme includes blue body panels and black ground effects, while the cabin is finished in red, providing a nice contrast. The running gear adds to the muscle-bound attitude with a multi-spoke layout, while the rear end shows off a quartet of taillights and four rounded exhaust tips.
As for the mechanicals, we would expect the 2025 Pontiac GTO to offer up a pair of V8 engines, starting with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1, and followed by the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4. The GM Alpha platform would provide the underpinnings, making the new GTO essentially a re-bodied Chevy Camaro. Both an automatic and manual transmission would be on hand to send the power exclusively to the rear wheels.
Tell us what you think about our 2025 Pontiac GTO Convertible by voting in the poll below, and subscribe to GM Authority for more Pontiac GTO news, Pontiac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

This is a big no from me. The Pontiac subreddit caught wind of the modern GTO render y’all did previously, and they absolutely hated it. Many were in agreement that it looks like a BMW and a Camaro. Chopping the roof off ain’t gonna make it look any better. Please stop doing renders and just stick to reporting on GM, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet news. The renders are God awful.
GM Is Too Mentally Challenged To Bring Back The GTO…They Rather Make Electric Cars That Sit On Dealers Lots!!!
I want a EV convertible…..
BETTER HE TRIES WITH AI Midjourney guys got good results.
For the love of all that is holy… set it on fire – absolutely hideous. I’m with Antares… stick with the brands that aren’t dead, please.
Yes this is pointless and a waste of time. Plus it looks like a wannabe BMW.
I am sorry but that front end looks way to much like a BMW. The rear end looks horrible.
We just bought one of the last 2024 Camaro SS convertibles because it does seat 4 people. Albeit it was so that we can take our grandkids for a ride.
just another piece of junk.
If you would get read of the Camaro rear end and put the old style GTO tail lights in it and it needs more flyer to it and the front end needs something done with it too
Do not quit your day job. BUTT UGLY!
You all need to stop spending time on renders. Haven’t seen one yet worth a darn. Get back to being journalists and bring us news.
No need to render anything if gm officialy stated recently; that the Pontiac Brand will not re-enter the General Motors portfolio, when it comes to the actual manufacturing of vehicles.
That is one ugly-fied BMW. I suppose congratulations are in order, I didn’t think it possible to make one even uglier than BMW already does.
maybe he put a bunny grille to say it is pontiac
I’ll stick with my 2004 Pontiac gto over this bmw looking piece of trash with a backend designed by someone whose obviously never designed anything good looking
This is awful. Please stop
Have you guys not learned your lesson on making horrible Renders? The first time you posted this the negativity was so bad I thought we were looking at Biden poll numbers. Just stop already
No, you combined a 2 Series with a Camaro, slapped on a Pontiac badge, and called it a day. This looks terrible and you should stop trying to make renderings and stick to reporting GM news.
WHY the Camaro tail lights ???????????????????????????????????
GM is not giving the North American buyers what they want anymore. It seems GM is building that auto and telling us this is what we want!
GM HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUT OF TOUCH WITH ITS MAJORITY OF BUYERS. EVEN SINCE THE THIRTIES. THIS IS HIDIOUS!
