Here’s What This 2025 Cadillac Celestiq Brown Paint Color Is Called

As GM Authority has covered in the past, the Cadillac Celestiq offers an extreme level of customization opportunities, and naturally, that includes a multitude of exterior paint colors. As such, we’ve already seen the Celestiq in some rather striking shades, including a bright green hue dubbed Venom, as well as a shade of fuchsia dubbed Vixen Metallic. Now, we’re checking out the ultra-luxury sedan in a hue dubbed Zanzibar Autumn Metallic.

UPDATE: after the publication of this article, a Cadillac spokesperson reached out to GM Authority to clarify that the approved market-facing name is Autumn Metallic. Zanzibar was the internal, design-approved name for the color.

This specific example of the Cadillac Celestiq was recently seen on display at Gold Coast Cadillac in Oakhurst, New Jersey. However, an Autumn Metallic-colored Celestiq was also featured by the Audrain Museum Network in a video co-hosted by Jay Leno.

The Autumn Metallic (color code GM6) paint finish shows a deep, rich copper-like bronze. The warm tone shimmers under the showroom lights, highlighting the car’s sculpted body lines and premium finish. This unique color choice gives the sedan an elegant yet modern presence.

At the front, the Celestiq features Cadillac’s signature grille design, which is completely sealed to enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The grille is outlined by slim, vertical LED lighting elements that flow seamlessly into the bodywork. This lighting signature creates a futuristic and dynamic appearance. The hood is long and smooth, flowing effortlessly into the steeply raked windshield, contributing to the car’s aerodynamic profile.

From the side, the Celestiq has a long, sleek silhouette with a sloping roofline that merges into the rear, resembling a fastback design. Chrome accents highlight the window trims and rocker panels, further enhancing its luxurious look. The large alloy wheels have an intricate, multi-spoke design with a black-and-polished finish that complements the bronze exterior color perfectly.

At the rear, the Celestiq boasts a distinctive and dramatic lighting design. The slim, vertical taillights start at the edge of the roofline and flow downward along the rear fenders, creating a sharp, angular effect. The rear bumper is minimalistic, while black lower trim contrasts with the Autumn Metallic paint for a sporty touch.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Celestiq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, with motivation sourced from a 111 kWh battery pack. Every unit is assembled by hand at the GM Global Technical Center in Michigan. As one might expect, this halo vehicle doesn’t come cheap, starting at $340,000.

  1. I must be hungry or something because the first thoughts that came to mind was chocolate, coffee, and espresso.

  2. So much hype. The GM PR machine is out there regularly promoting this car but I’ve yet to hear they’re actually building any. I wonder why. They said it was sold out for two years (in theory 800 units sold) and John Roth said production began a year ago. It clearly didn’t and if they have all those orders why are they still disappointing their customers.

  3. OMG, it’s even uglier in up-close photos. Color is “meh” and certainly it, and the car, are NOT elegant, by a long shot. Cancel it.

  4. Sooo many adjectives in the article.

  5. That is without a doubt the ugliest car I have ever seen. It’s like they took every bad decision you could possibly make visually, mechanically and financially and turned it into a rolling cautionary tale.

    1. Jim. I also feel this is not the most attractive. I would have loved to see them put a sedan like the CT6 in EV, give it a real name and offer that for a price affordable by more people.

But this car is doing what it’s intended to do: Make people talk. It will go into the hands of those who crave attention, thus also doing what it’s intended to do. We may not like it, but (at least speaking for myself) we are not the intended market.

Kind of reminds me of a radio commercial from 45 years ago when I was quite young. It was for a local Buick, Cadillac and Honda dealership. It really was an annoying commercial and it played non-stop during the lunch and dinner hours when many would be listening to their radios as they ate. One night it came on and my dad kind of lost it saying how much he hated it. But he and many others remembered it and could almost sing that jingle.

      1. I agree with you that we are not the customer they want . GM lost its way many years ago. I can’t believe what they have done to one the greatest companies ever.

    2. Do you think the dealer actually ordered that thing or did GM just drop it off on his back lot late one night!

  7. The car Homer Simpson even called ugly. What an albatross! I am the head of GM design loved this piece of artistic garbage, so all the minions around him bowed down and called it brilliant. The emperor has no clothes moment! Will go down in history as Aztec territory if not worse, since budget was not an issue. The new Edsel for Cadillac. What an embarrassment.

  14. Horrible…I didn’t think they could make this ugly car even uglier, but they sure did. You know what dealers say: “Brown sticks around.”

    1. Or, if it’s brown flush it down

  15. Beautiful color, but the car is not elegant enough to suit and fit a beautiful color. Indeed among all those balck cars in street, miss the brown and green colors. Other day saw a cappuccino car, it was a small one, made me surprised

  18. My original thought was to comment on how funny it is, to me at least, when someone tries to describe a color with words when there is a picture that shows what they are trying to describe. Why bother. However, after seeing the rear end of the car, it reminds me of pictures from the people of Walmart sight. This car is the Edsel of the 21 century.

  19. i find it so ironic that the sollei concept got so much praise while this gets so much hate even though the sollei is designed the EXACT same way minus the taillights. you guys can drop the act now, we all know you guys don’t hate this design as much as you are saying online. stop all the hate, its corny 😂
