2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 1, Sport 1 vs. Luxury 2, Sport 2: Feature Comparison

Standing as the second model year of the luxury marque’s all-electric crossover, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is available in a wide variety of configurations thanks to Cadillac‘s Y-trim level approach. With that in mind, some GM Authority readers were wondering what are the differences between the Lyriq‘s Luxury 1 / Sport 1 trims and Luxury 2 / Sport 2 trim levels, so today, we’re taking a closer look in the following GM Authority feature comparison.

For starters, here’s a brief overview of how the 2024 Lyriq’s trim level hierarchy functions. The new-for-2024 Tech model stands as the entry-level offering, while the Luxury and Sport trim levels branch off from there.

In looking over the diagram above, we can see how Caddy positions each model in the Lyriq’s lineup. In addition, the Luxury 1 and Sport 1 trims generally include the same features, but with a focus on either opulence or performance, respectively. Moving up the hierarchy, the same holds true for Luxury 2 and Sport 2 units, as well as Luxury 3 and Sport 3 models.

With that covered, here’s how 2024 Lyriq Luxury 1 and Sport 1 trims compare with 2024 Lyriq Luxury 2 and Sport 2 units.

As illustrated above, Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trims feature quite a few standard goodies over their Luxury 1 and Sport 1 counterparts. Some notable bits include GM Super Cruise, Next-Generation Active Noise Cancellation, ventilated driver and front passenger seats, and available power panoramic dual-panel sliding sunroof with power sunshade.

Of course, the differences in standard and available equipment between the trim levels is reflected in pricing figures, where the Luxury 1 and Sport 1 trim levels are $4,300 more affordable than the Luxury 2 and Sport 2.

In regard to the “base” Tech trim, some notable goodies this model doesn’t feature include front-seat massaging, slimline LED headlights and taillamps with choreography, and hands-free power liftgate.

  1. No idea why GM keeps making so many different trim levels, especially when it comes to luxury or mid luxury vehicles.
    1st, it overwhelms consumers
    2nd it must cause extra logistical issues for parts
    3rd salesmen already don’t know the basics about products, never mind the subtle differences in trim patterns
    4th the price differences maybe between base and loaded is significant, but in between?
    5th, related to that and most common, dealers just order fully loaded trim levels anyways, because they make those margins, so 90% of customers, the ones who don’t factory order and buy off the lot, don’t get a choice anyways.

    1. I think it’s due to a lack of a committed direction. They want to attract a younger demographic, but those buyers want fully loaded with latest tech, but the older demographic wants affordability. Between this and the EVs, they are a jack of all trades, master of none.

  2. It’s because it costs the manufacturer quite a bit more to add the additional features in parts and labor. Some of the features are not important but can cost the buyer thousands more. Thanks Cadillac for offering the different trim levels to keep customers happy and in budget. By the way, the sales professionals at the dealership I work for are certified by Cadillac and absolutely know the basics and beyond.
