GM Authority has learned that the Sky Panel Storage Set (RPO code SC8) will return to the options list for both the 2025 GMC Hummer EV and the 2024 GMC Hummer EV. This optional accessory, which adds a set of trays to the front trunk (or “eTrunk”) of the Hummer EV, provides a secure spot for storing the all-electric off-roader’s Modular Sky Panels. These panels can be taken off for an open-air riding experience, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility.
The Sky Panel Storage Set is an LPO, or dealer-installed option, meaning it is fitted at the dealership rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially assembled. The accessory was previously unavailable for the 2024 Hummer EV since October of 2023, as GM Authority covered, but now, the option is making a comeback for the 2024 and 2025 model years. Pricing for the Sky Panel Storage Set is $750 for the 2025 model year.
This storage set ensures the panels remain secure, even during off-road adventures. It adds practical value for those who enjoy the Hummer EV’s convertible features without worrying about the safety of their roof panels.
The GMC Hummer EV is equipped with GM’s Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors, riding on the GM BT1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan. This plant, formerly known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant, is the first GM facility dedicated exclusively towards manufacturing GM’s electric vehicles.
The 2025 GMC Hummer EV will introduce a few updates and changes compared to the preceding 2024 model year, including the deletion of four exterior colors and the addition of two new exterior colors. The base-level 2 trim will also be deleted outright. Production for the 2025 Hummer EV is currently expected to begin early next month.

My thoughts are that if an item isn’t installed at the factory, do NOT get it. Far too many dealers have their new hired help and or a lube boob employees do the work. Most long-term mechanics don’t want to deal with it, and the dealership doesn’t want to pay them top dollar for their efforts. If a dealer could get a porter or car jockey to do it, they would….
The ICE Escalade would look miles better with this type of roof.
