Almost three months after the launch of the new-generation Sail in Chile as a regional novelty, General Motors has just officially launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail in Peru.
The automaker recently launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail in Peru, where GM is reintroducing the Sail nameplate after several years of absence, having been temporarily replaced by the Chevy Joy. As such, the 2024 Sail arrives in the Peruvian market to strengthen the company’s offering as the new entry-level vehicle in Chevrolet‘s local portfolio.
In particular, Peru becomes the second country in South America and around the world where the all-new, fourth-generation 2024 Chevy Sail is launched – a next-generation entry-level vehicle that was first introduced early last year as the Chevy Aveo in Mexico. In this sense, the South American country becomes the third international market to receive this affordable new car from Chevy after Mexico and Chile.
Developed and manufactured exclusively by the American manufacturer’s SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture in China, the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail stands out as one of the most modern and comprehensively equipped entry-level cars in the Peruvian automotive market. The model offers a good balance between design, equipment, interior space and price that makes it an attractive option for a large number of Peruvian buyers.
As in Chile, the 2024 Chevy Sail will initially be offered in Peru with a four-door sedan body and two equipment levels, LT and LTZ. However, in this case, the top-of-the-line LTZ does not include a configuration with the continously variable automatic transmission, offering only the six-speed manual transmission mated to the 98-horsepower, 1.5L naturally aspirated engine. The 2024 Sail comes standard with class-leading safety and technology features.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Sail sedan is now available for sale throughout the official Chevrolet dealer network in Peru, where the brand has a solid commercial presence and had high growth during the 2023 calendar year. Like in Mexico and Chile, 2024 Sail sedan units for the South American country are imported from China. Here is pricing for the two versions of the vehicle in Peru:
- 2024 Sail sedan LT: 46,162 soles (about $11,990 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Sail sedan LTZ: 50,012 soles ($12,990 USD)

Wish we could get affordable entry level cars like this here. $11,990 for LT and $12,990 for LTZ is unheard of in the U.S. Would make a great little commuter car. I’d take the 6 speed manual for sure!
Nice little Chinese built car.
