Following the official debut of the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail sedan in Chile earlier this month, General Motors has now just launched Chevrolet‘s new entry-level vehicle in the southern country.
The automaker’s Chilean subsidiary officially launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail sedan in the local market, which has been largely led for more than a decade by the Sail, with more than 113,000 units sold so far. As such, the completely redesigned 2024 Sail seeks to continue the nameplates’s successful legacy and help the Bow Tie brand reclaim its sales leadership in Chile.
“Today, we embark on a new journey together with the thousands of families in Chile who trust in our tradition as a brand. We are proud to launch a new version of ‘El Preferido de Chile’, the Chevrolet Sail in its best version,” said Marketing Manager of GM Chile, Sebastián Caballero. “We adapt a classic to today’s needs, mixing its attributes such as fuel efficiency, space and comfort, with new safety and connectivity elements. We are sure that the New Sail will enhance a model that has marked the industry and our customers in the country,” he added.
Initially, the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail will go on sale in Chile in four-door sedan configuration, offered in a total of three variants called LT Manual, LTZ Manual and LTZ CVT. All come standard with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine that produces 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission, the latter being exclusive to the range-topping trim.
In addition, the new 2024 Chevy Sail stands out for including an extensive list of safety equipment and more connectivity features that make it the most complete entry-level vehicle on the market. For example, it includes six airbags, stability control and anti-lock brakes all as standard, while a rearview camera, reversing sensors and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available in LTZ variants. The trunk has a capacity of 475 liters or 16.8 cubic feet.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Sail sedan is now available for sale in the brand’s official dealer network in Chile, the nameplate’s main volume market. Just like the previous generation model, the new 2024 Sail arrives in the South American country imported from China where it is manufactured exclusively by the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture – in charge of developing Chevrolet’s new entry-level model for developing markets.
Here are the starting prices of the 2024 Chevy Sail sedan in Chile:
- 2024 Sail LT Manual: 9,790,000 pesos (about $11,260 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Sail LTZ Manual: 10,590,000 pesos ($12,180 USD)
- 2024 Sail LTZ CVT: 11,590,000 pesos ($13,330 USD)

Sedans for every place but here.
Why would they make a new sedan?
The all knowing Mary blunder Barra clearly stated that people do not want small cars when she shuttered the best selling Cruze and closed the Lordstown plant.
I think she is stuck in fantasy land at Disney.
They should have fired her long ago. Her EV push was poop to the customer. She wanted that Land Rover level of depreciation.
