General Motors has just officially launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo in Mexico, where the redesigned Aveo made its world debut and the biggest market for the nameplate.
The automaker launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo in Mexico on March 31st during a media special event, where GM Mexico offered the first test drives of the vehicle and confirmed the hatchback variant’s sales start this month in the Mexican market. The new 2024 Aveo five-door will strengthen the subcompact car’s offering to better compete for sales leadership in Mexico.
“The new 2024 Chevrolet Aveo responds to the needs of our customers, with great value within the offer of subcompact vehicles,” said Marketing Manager for Chevrolet at GM Mexico, Wilberto del Ángel, in a statement. “The 2024 Aveo will allow us to keep current customers in this segment and most importantly, win over more Mexicans. That is why we call it the best Aveo that has ever existed,” he added.
As we reported in detail last month, the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo hatchback is offered in Mexico with a lineup of three trims: LS Manual (fleet-exclusive), LT Manual, and LT Plus. All come with a comprehensive safety package that includes six airbags, stability control, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, rearview camera and park sensors, in addition to an 8-inch infotainment screen with high connectivity.
Mechanically, the 2024 Chevy Aveo for Mexico is motivated by a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine rated at 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic, the latter being exclusive to the range-topping variant. The automatic transmission also includes a manual mode with six fixed gear ratios.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo hatchback will be available for sale starting in the first half of April throughout the extensive network of official Chevrolet dealers in Mexico, which becomes the first country worldwide to market the next-generation vehicle developed by the manufacturer’s SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture in China. The all-new Aveo range will be completed in the third quarter with the arrival of the four-door sedan variant.

- 2024 Aveo LT Manual: 294,400 pesos (about $16,280 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Aveo LT Plus: 323,400 pesos ($17,880 USD)
