Inventory levels of the Chevy Blazer across the United States remained strong as of the beginning of December 2023, sources close to the matter tell GM Authority.
As of early December 2023, the Bow Tie brand’s midsize crossover had 14,700 units on the ground at dealership lots, and was running at an 82 days supply, meaning there is sufficient Blazer inventory at dealerships to last roughly 82 days at the current sales pace. For context, the industry average is typically a 60 days supply.
An important piece worth noting is that the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico – the facility where the ICE-powered Blazer is produced – will be shut down from December 18th, 2023 to January 8th, 2024. Due to this, it’s likely that inventory levels will subside following the temporary closure.
Although this is the second consecutive month that the Blazer has boasted at least an 80 days supply – as November 2023 levels stood at nearly 13,000 units and an 83 days figure – inventory levels of the midsizer have been slowly improving. In September 2023, the Chevy Blazer boasted a 29 days supply, while August 2023 saw a days supply figure of 20. Before that, there were 3,800 units of the Blazer on the ground at dealerships as of early July 2023 for a 19 days supply.
Despite this improvement in inventory, the Blazer saw a drop in sales figures over the course of Q3 2023.

The GM nine-speed automatic transmission handles the shifting duties for both powerplants.

I am amazed that Chevrolet and GM have not acknowledged that the Blazer EV has been named the Motor Trend SUV of the year. That’s a BIG DEAL…so why not shout it from the roof tops???? In 2014 the Cadillac CTS was named Motor Trend’s Car of the Year, after competing head-to-head with the 5 Series BMW and E-Class Mercedes, but it never appeared in any TV or print ads. Why keep that a secret? Someone needs to explain the Marketing team that this is a significant accomplishment and should be included in ALL print and TV ads.
Actually it has been promoted a number of times. Each dealer has 1-3 on hand.
Most auto advertising is via the web. TV is secondary pretty much any more.
Really? I see almost no ads on the internet. Maybe it’s because I don’t participate in social media.
What are you talking about? They plastered it all over their website. They did the same thing with the Colorado too.
“Inventory remains strong” = not selling!
Whodathunk that price gouging people would turn them off from buying cars? Now that the chickens have come home to roost in the form of high interest rates and the brainless customer that lack a sense of value in their money have all evaporated, they can’t find enough willing idiots to dump their cash. Oh no…what will they do now?…anyways…
Meanwhile after 14 weeks since ordering a Blazer, Chevy still hasn’t accepted the order yet from the dealer.
Ya they’re only selling 179 per day so even when the plant is idled for 21 days that’s only 3765 sales until they restart production again. With people concerned about high interest rates and paying off Christmas credit card debt, expect inventory to jump back up from approximately 11,000 to 15,000 rather quickly.
