Chevy Blazer Inventory Strong In November 2023

Across the United States, inventory levels of the Chevy Blazer drastically improved as of the beginning of November 2023, GM Authority sources familiar to the matter tell us.

As of early November 2023, the Bow Tie brand’s midsize crossover had nearly 13,000 units on the ground at dealership lots, and was running at an 83 days supply, meaning there is sufficient Blazer inventory at dealerships to last roughly 83 days at the current sales pace. For context, the industry average is typically a 60 days supply.

It’s worth noting that the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico – the facility where the ICE-powered Blazer is built – will be shut down from December 18th, 2023 to January 8th, 2024. As a result, this astronomic inventory level may come back down to Earth in the near future.

Side profile of Chevy Blazer.

Before this enormous jump in the days supply figure, inventory levels of the Bow Tie brand’s midsize crossover had been gradually improving every month. In September 2023, the Chevy Blazer boasted a 29 days supply, while August 2023 saw a days supply figure of 20. Before that, there were 3,800 units of the Blazer on the ground at dealerships as of early July 2023 for a 19 days supply, along with 2,800 units on dealer lots in June 2023, with an additional 3,700 en route for a 15 days supply.

As far as sales figures are concerned, the Blazer actually saw a drop in sales figures over the course of Q3 2023 despite the improvement in inventory levels.

Chevrolet Blazer Sales - Q3 2023 - United States

In the United States, Chevrolet Blazer deliveries totaled 15,515 units in Q3 2023, a decrease of about 11 percent compared to 17,511 units sold in Q3 2022.

In the first nine months of the year, Blazer sales decreased about 3 percent to 48,858 units.

As a reminder, the current 2024 Chevy Blazer is offered with the choice of one of two engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.

Shifting duties for both powerplants is handled by the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

Under the skin, the Blazer rides on the GM C1 platform. Production of the 2024 model year kicked off in July 2023 at the aforementioned GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
