GM has issued a service bulletin for a retrofit of the heated steering wheel (RPO code KI3) feature on certain units of the 2022 Cadillac CT4 produced between December 6th, 2021 and March 27th, 2022 inclusively.
GM produced certain 2022 model-year Cadillac CT4 sedans without a functional Heated steering wheel feature starting on December 6th, 2021. The heated function was omitted at the time because the semiconductor shortage prevented GM from obtaining all the necessary parts. All units of the Premium Luxury and Sport trims were built without the steering wheel heat feature.
Several other Cadillac vehicles received limited heated steering wheel availability at the same time, including the Cadillac XT4, XT5, and XT6 crossovers, plus the CT5 sedan.
Dealerships carry out the retrofit by ordering an appropriate replacement steering wheel assembly as detailed in the service bulletin, and install it in the affected 2022 Cadillac CT4 unit. Dealer replacement of the steering wheel assembly requires approximately 33 minutes and is carried out free of additional charge.
The retrofit program is in effect until March 31st, 2026.
In the 2022 Cadillac CT4 Luxury trim level, the heated steering wheel was included and only available as part of the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19). In the Premium Luxury, the heated steering wheel was included and only available as part of the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F). In the Sport and CT4-V, it was included and only available as part of the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19) or the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F).
Dealerships notified buyers of affected Cadillac CT4 sedans about the non-functional heated steering wheel feature at the time of purchase, and the missing feature was so indicated on the vehicle’s window sticker with RPO code 00G. Owners were notified of their vehicle’s eligibility for a retrofit at no additional cost once the necessary parts became available. Affected 2022 Cadillac CT4 owners who want more information about the retrofit can call Cadillac‘s customer service number, referencing the GM customer satisfaction program number below.

GM resolved the constraint on heated steering wheels for the Cadillac CT4 after March 27th, 2022 when sufficient semiconductor chips became available to produce vehicles with functional steering wheel heat again. New 2022 Cadillac CT4 units produced on or after March 28th, 2022 were produced with functional heated steering wheels and do not require a retrofit.
Note also that a similar retrofit is under way for the 2022 Cadillac XT6 crossover.

According to the article, the required chips to produce functional heated steering wheels became available on March 27, 2022 and new vehicles were produced with functional heated steering wheels starting March 28, 2022. Today, on March 6, 2023 (49 weeks later) GM issues a service bulletin to dealers to update the non-functioning heated steering wheels to a functioning heated wheel for those customers who purchased the vehicles with the non-functioning units. It appears that they place a very low priority on taking care of loyal customers who still bought their Cadillacs despite shortages such as this. How does GM expect them to remain loyal if their satisfaction is given such low priority? No wonder GM’s market share continues its steady decline.
Meantime, I have owned two vehicles – one built in Michigan, the other in Indiana – that were delivered with everything functioning, including the heated wheel. Note: neither are premium brands.
I agree it seems a low priority by GM to correct the problem. I have been waiting for over a year. Are we owners left to track down the availability and correction? There was also a front parking sensor missing but I have found nothing on that availability.
