2022 Cadillac CT4 Gets Heated Steering Wheel Back

The 2022 Cadillac CT4 is the third model year for the luxury four-door nameplate, introducing only a few small changes and updates to the existing model line, while also debuting the all-new CT4-V Blackwing performance model. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is once again available with the heated steering wheel feature.

According to GM Authority sources, new 2022 Cadillac CT4 units produced on or after March 28th will once again offer the heated steering wheel feature. Previously, Cadillac CT4 models produced between December 6th, 2021 and March 27th, 2022 had the heated steering wheel feature under constraint.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4’s heated steering wheel is tagged with RPO code KI3, and is offered with CT4 Luxury trims in conjunction with the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19). Cadillac CT4 Premium Luxury trims offer a heated steering wheel in conjunction with the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F), while Cadillac CT4 Sport and CT4-V models offer a heated steering wheel with both the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19) and the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F).

It’s also worth noting that the heated steering wheel feature was not under constraint for Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing models.

Going forward, Cadillac CT4 models produced between December 6th, 2021 and March 27th, 2022 that should have been equipped with a heated steering wheel (but were not) will be eligible for a retrofit at a later date.

Unfortunately, several other Cadillac CT4 features are still under constraint as a result of the global microchip shortage, as GM Authority covered previously.

Under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is available with three engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, and for CT4-V Blackwing models, the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine. Under the body panels, the Cadillac CT4 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan.

  3. Just try to order a new 2022 CT4 in any trim from your local dealer. Cadillac will not accept the order, and the Grand Lansing plant is shut down until April 10. Meanwhile, Costco has a $1,500 incentive available, but if Cadillac can’t produce a car with a VIN before May 2, the deal expires. Wonder why the Q1 sales were so low? Tesla doesn’t seem to have a chip shortage. What’s the matter with Mary Barra?
