As the third model year of the fifth generation of the Bow Tie’s full-size SUV, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe currently boasts a starting MSRP of $56,095. However, most buyers have been willing to pay much more for the body-on-frame utility, with the average transaction price (ATP) of new Tahoes reaching just over $70,000 late last year.
According to a recent Cox Automotive report, the ATP of a Chevy Tahoe rose 4.5 percent to $70,092 in Q4 2022 as compared to the same timeframe in 2021. These results are reflected by Chevy’s Q4 2022 ATP figure across all nameplates, which saw a 0.5 percent year-over-year increase to $49,602. As a whole, Chevy sold 408,991 vehicles in Q4 2022 in the United States, representing a significant 44 percent increase over Q4 2021 numbers.

Overall, GM sales also fared well during the fourth quarter of 2022. In fact, the Detroit-based automaker reclaimed its sales crown from Toyota for the 2022 calendar year after the Japan-based automaker stole it in 2021. In regards to Q4 2022 ATP figures, GM posted $52,849 per vehicle, which is down slightly from Q4 2021 numbers. However, this is still a strong showing as compared to pre-COVID years.
As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe is available with three powerplant options. These choices include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which develops 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, which churns out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. No matter engine choice, every Silverado is equipped with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, while RWD is standard and 4WD is optional.
Under the body panels, the 2023 Tahoe rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
