2023 GMC Sierra HD Gets Price Increase Over 2022 Model

The 2023 GMC Sierra HD introduces only a handful of changes and updates over the previous 2022 model year. That said, pricing for the 2023 GMC Sierra HD has increased compared to the 2022 GMC Sierra HD.

The 2023 GMC Sierra HD is now $1,000 more expensive compared to equivalent models from the 2022 model year. This price increase was applied to the MSRP for all trim levels in the 2023 GMC Sierra HD lineup, including the Sierra 2500HD and the Sierra 3500HD.

As such, the least-expensive 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD model on offer, specifically the Sierra Pro trim level in the Regular Cab / Long Bed configuration with rear-wheel drive and the 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, is now priced at $44,770, including Destination Freight Charge (DFC). Meanwhile, the most-expensive 2023 GMC Sierra 3500HD model on offer, specifically the Denali trim level in the Crew Cab / Long Bed DRW configuration with rear-wheel drive and 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel engine, is now priced at $86,245, including DFC.

As GM Authority covered previously, the GMC Sierra HD nameplate was originally slated to introduce a major refresh for the 2023 model year, including a new exterior design, a new interior, and potentially new powertrain updates. However, as a result of complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and global microchip shortage, the model refresh was delayed to the 2024 model year instead.

Under the hood, the 2023 GMC Sierra HD can be had with either the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.

The online configurator for the 2023 GMC Sierra HD is now live. Production began July 18^th.
