The GMC Hummer EV will be offered with a variety of official accessories from launch, including a set of so-called ‘Off Road Mounted Pod Lights’, which will be seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s front pillars.
In a description on its website, GMC said the Off Road Mounted Pod Lights “will offer increased lighting when you’re out on the trails in the HUMMER EV Pickup or SUV.” The lights attach to the exterior front pillars and have “integrated mounts and wiring for seamless installation.” Additionally, the pod lights can be easily adjusted for additional light in the area surrounding the vehicle.
Action cameras like those from GoPro are becoming increasingly popular among car enthusiasts who want to record their street drives, track days or off-road excursions. The same mounting equipment used to mount the pod lights can also be used to mount small action/adventure cameras like the GoPro, giving this available accessory an additional layer of usability.
The Off Road Mounted Pod Lights are far from the only available official accessories that will be offered with the GMC Hummer EV from launch. Other add-ons and extras for the battery-electric off roader include Roof Cross Rails and an Off Road Light Bar.
“The GMC Hummer EV accessories portfolio will be a unique lineup, offering all-new personalization choices that address the needs of extreme off-roaders and advance the convenience and capabilities associated with owning an all-electric supertruck,” said Brantley Johnson, accessory product manager for GMC, said in a prepared statement.
The GMC Hummer EV pickup will enter production at the GM Factory Zero plant this fall, with the GMC Hummer EV SUV joining the pickup variant in early 2023. The photos in this article show the Off Road Mounted Pod Lights on the later-availability Hummer EV SUV.
