2021 Corvette Ultra-High Security Silver-Painted Wheel Locks Now Available

The 2021 Corvette brings with it a number of small changes and updates over the preceding 2020 model year, and now, GM Authority has learned that the latest C8 will also offer the option for new Ultra-High Security Silver-Painted Wheel Locks.

Unfortunately, there are currently no images of the new 2021 Corvette Ultra-High Security Silver-Painted Wheel Locks available.

“[The new wheel locks] have a stainless steel ‘ring’ around the outside of them so if someone tried to pound a socket over the lock then it will spin on the ring, making it more difficult to remove the wheel lock,” said Senior Manager, Chevrolet Cars and Crossovers Communications, Kevin Kelly, in a statement to GM Authority.

The new Ultra-High Security Silver-Painted Wheel Locks are available to order with the latest 2021 Corvette C8. Additionally, the wheel locks are offered as an LPO accessory, and thus can be ordered for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 as well.

Pricing is set at $105. The 2021 Corvette Ultra-High Security Silver-Painted Wheel Locks are tagged with RPO code SQU. The new silver wheel locks are offered alongside several other wheel lock options, including standard wheel locks, and black wheel locks.

Securing the wheels on the latest Chevrolet Corvette C8 is essential, especially with consideration to where the new mid-engine sports car is driven and parked. As we covered earlier this year, wheel thieves stole a set of rollers off an early C8 model in the West Village neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan, back in January.

The 2021 Corvette is the second model year of the latest eighth-generation nameplate, offering up two new exterior colors (Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat and Silver Flare Metallic), new racing stripe colors and options, an additional interior color option (Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow), and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

  1. The wheels are the least favoured item on the C8. Can’t imagine why someone would ever want to steal them.

    1. Just because they can if they’re not locked.

  2. Who cares about wheel locks? How about building some Corvettes?

    1. Chevrolet would do better to look at the quality of the wheels they use. If the wheels have stress cracks and appear to be junk on past C7 cars then owners won’t want wheel locks on them and hope these worthless wheels mysteriously disappear.

  3. No one wants those ugly wheels anyway lol.

  4. The black A-pillars and roof look pretty good I think.

  5. $105 for a set of four locks is a major rip-off. Wait a few months and McGard will have their version of this new, high-tech lock for, likely, about $65-$70. Tire Rack is selling packages of four locks in the $30.00 range, whereas the parts department at your local Chevy dealer is selling a similar set for about double the Tire Rack price, if not more. Who really looks at wheel locks, anyway? If a McGard lock will do the job, I’m not going to pay double for a set just because it’s ‘Genuine Chevrolet.”

    1. And guess who usually makes those locks for GM?

  6. Hmmm, I say let them get stolen, collect the insurance and go buy some nice Forgeline wheels. Just make sure your deductible is 0 or minimal.

  7. It seems that nothing GM does makes you guys happy.
