The 2020 GMC Yukon has the strongest resale value of any full-size SUV, according to Kelley Blue Book.
The automotive consumer website expects the 2020 GMC Yukon to retain 40.2% of its original value after five years of ownership. Coming in second in the website’s resale rankings for full-size SUVs is the Toyota Sequoia, which is projected to retain 40.0% of its resale value after five years. The Ford Expedition Max was third, with KBB estimating it will retain about 39.9% of its resale value.
Somewhat interesting with this ranking is how close the top three are. With the Yukon, Sequoia and Expedition Max all being similarly priced, the resale value of these vehicles after five years will be quite similar. Additionally, the 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe did not appear in the top three, despite being closely related to the Yukon and featuring much of the same equipment, so it seems the more premium GMC badge helps the full-size SUV retain value a bit better than a Chevrolet Bow Tie. KBB did not provide a projected resale value for the Tahoe.
KBB says the body-on-frame GMC Yukon “remains a popular choice” today, despite there being plenty of car-based crossover vehicles on the market that fulfill a similar need. Its premium features, strong resale value and practicality continue to keep it near the top of many consumers’ full-size SUV shopping lists, KBB says, and with a luxurious Denali trim also available, the Yukon proves appealing to family and luxury car shoppers alike.
General Motors recently launched an all-new, next-generation 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, which will go on sale later this year. The new models offer countless improvements over the outgoing 2020 models, riding on a more refined T1 platform and featuring independent rear suspension, fourth-generation Magnetic Ride Control, an available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, a more luxurious interior and more. The gas engines carry over from the last model, however, with GM’s naturally aspirated 5.3L L84 V8 serving as the standard engine and its naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8 offered as an option. The 3.0L I6 LM2 turbo-diesel Duramax joins the lineup as an option, as well.

Of the three 2021 GM product SUV’s, the GMC Denali has the best looking grille and front end. They really are “Professional Grade”.
Will the Yukon have a Custom model eliminating the 3rd row of seats like the Tahoe ? I would be interested if that is the case.
