2019 Silverado Reveal: Watch It Live Right Here

Hello and welcome to January 13th, 2018 – a date awaited by many Chevy truck fans, enthusiasts and industry followers as the day of the complete 2019 Silverado reveal.

“But the 2019 Silverado reveal technically took place at the Chevy Truck Centennial celebration in Texas on December 16th“, you may say… and you would be totally correct. However, that surprise reveal in December didn’t provide many specifics about the truck, and Chevy didn’t let anyone near the Silverado Trailboss model that it showed off that day, so that reveal was quite limited. By comparison, today’s reveal is the real, full-blown deal – where we expect to learn the complete details about the 2019 Silverado 1500.

Update: we have published an update on the 2019 Silverado details following Chevrolet’s presentation.

As luck would have it, we will have a live video stream of the 2019 Silverado reveal, which you can watch right below at:

  • 6:30 pm Eastern
  • 5:30 pm Central
  • 4:30 pm Mountain
  • 3:30 pm Pacific

GM Authority will be on hand at the event, and will be bringing you coverage of the 2019 Silverado reveal as well as complete details, so be sure to follow our Chevy Silverado news coverage for that.

While you wait, check out the ten new GM cars to look forward to in 2018 as well as Silverado sales in 2017.

About 2019 Silverado 1500

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Trailbosss Live Reveal Video 0030

Representing the fourth generation of the Silverado nameplate, the Silverado 1500 is all-new for the 2019 model year. The truck is all-new, with new underpinnings in the form of the GM T1 platform set to be shared with other GM full-size trucks and SUVs, all-new exterior, interior and technologies.

Chevrolet says that the all-new Silverado 1500 is the result of over 7,000 customer interviews – the most intensive research in its history. The brand has confirmed that the pickup will use “higher grade alloy steel” in the bed floor as well as various mixed materials, resulting in a reduction in weight and improved performance. The 2019 Silverado will also offer an expanded amount of models (for a total of eight) along with more engine/transmission combinations and more technology and convenience features.

    1. The reveal will start at 6:30 pm EST. Just look at the count-down in the video above.

The press conference accommodations will starts at 6:00… but that’s to get people checked in, situated and seated, etc.

  3. I wonder if they`ll reveal a fix for the( going on 3 year) eight speed shutter problem, or the z06 overheating??? Quality not quanity. GM may have the best looking trucks, but they don`t have the best built!!!

    1. The shutter problem needs to be addressed, yes… but do you honestly think it will be part of today’s reveal? C’mon.

The Z06 overheating issues were limited and have been resolved.

The issues you describe are not associated with “building” but more so with engineering before anything gets built. Not sure how prevalent they are.

Ultimately, it’s about quantity and quality together… can’t run a profitable automaker without quantity… and can’t run a profitable automaker long enough if you have poor quality.

    3. Looks are subjective though. Honestly I think the Ford F-150 is best looking currently. Though I’m hopeful GM improves the current trucks where needed.

  5. Ed I certainly don’t agree with you. The High Country for sure looks great, and much better than the F-150. This is the best looking Silverado period and full size truck overall thus far.

All I want is those detail specifications about those engine and transmission combinations and power output.

To GM engineers for God sake, can’t you calibrate those 8 and 10speed transmissions to match what ZF has given the automotive world for once?

    1. I agree it’s the best looking Silverado by far. And I was hopeful they had gone as far with updating the interior – but changes inside appear very limited.

  6. Thanks for the comeback Alex. Truck looks good, and sounds good, but the 8-speed shutter problem being ignored doesn`t give me much confidence in GM. I`ve owned 5 new chevy pickups, and were all pretty good trucks, presently own a Tundra, best one yet.

    1. Have you driven a 2019? You can’t say the shutter “problem” still exists without any experience.

  7. I wonder if it the 2019 Silverado (Sierra) will have these features, that the F-150 had in 2015:

    1) Adaptive Cruise Control
    2) Blind Spot Monitors
    3) Keyless Ignition
    4) 360 degree cameras
    5) Rear HVAC vents
    6) Trailor Backup Assist
    7) DOHC, 4V Engines
    8) Console Shifter
    9) Massaging Seats

    1. Excellent points. I agree completely!
This 19 MY Chevy is improved, but the Ford is still my choice. The console shift being a big preference of mine!

  8. Government Motors. Meh.

  9. Nebula, I haven`t heard GM own up to a shutter problem, let alone a fix. I don`t want the best looking truck that`s always in the shop.

  10. Why does Chevy make such a fuss about an introduction that’s way down the road and Ford and Ram just say bam there it is and you can purchase it next month?

  11. Alright, so what’s up GMC’s sleeve? Need to see the new Sierra. Is there any new details about it?
