Cumulative U.S. sales of GM’s Chevrolet brand increased 11.4 percent to 196,007 units in August 2017.
Retail sales increased 5.9 percent or 8,481 units to 151,137 vehicles, representing 77.1 percent of total Chevrolet sales in August 2017. That compares to 142,656 retail sales in August 2016, which represented 81.1 percent of total Chevrolet sales.
Fleet sales increased 34.7 percent or 11,561 units to 44,870 vehicles, representing 22.9 percent of total Chevrolet sales in August 2017. That compares to 33,309 fleet sales in August 2016, which represented 18.9 percent of total Chevrolet sales.

- Chevrolet Caprice sales increased 757.14 percent to 60 units
- Chevrolet Colorado sales increased 10.97 percent to 10,256 units
- Chevrolet Commercial Truck sales totaled 637 units
- Chevrolet Corvette sales decreased 42.93 percent to 1,748 units
- Chevrolet Cruze sales decreased 26.15 percent to 16,500 units
- Chevrolet Equinox sales increased 84.93 percent to 28,245 units; retail sales increased 67 percent
- Chevrolet Express sales increased 4.22 percent to 6,940 units
- Chevrolet Impala sales increased 66.29 percent to 9,452 units; retail sales increased 63 percent
- Chevrolet Malibu sales increased 35.89 percent to 22,725 units
- Chevrolet SS sales increased 1521.43 percent to 227 units
- Chevrolet Silverado sales increased 3.89 percent to 54,448 units; retail sales of Silverado 1500 Crew Cab increased 21 percent
- Chevrolet Sonic sales decreased 47.09 percent to 2,181 units
- Chevrolet Spark sales decreased 36.86 percent to 1,855 units
- Chevrolet Suburban sales decreased 16.73 percent to 4,777 units
- Chevrolet Tahoe sales decreased 5.04 percent to 7,879 units
- Chevrolet Traverse sales increased 34.72 percent to 11,337 units; retail sales increased 83 percent, its best month ever
- Chevrolet Trax sales increased 16.78 percent to 8,171 units; retail sales increased 11 percent, its best August month ever
- Electric car sales:
- Chevrolet Bolt EV sales totaled 2,107 units, its strongest sales ever since launching in December 2016
- Chevrolet Volt sales decreased 30.56 percent to 1,445 units
- According to PIN data, the Volt and Bolt EV combined for 46 percent of non-luxury, electric vehicle sales in August

Nice to see that the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV is gaining more sales per month. It now sells more than the Chevy Volt and the Chevy Corvette.
It’d be interesting to see which models are driving the spike in fleet sales …
I’d guess Impala and Malibu, for starters. But who knows…
Strong month for the Impala. Disappointing performance by the Cruze/Malibu, but the Traverse is going great be a home run, and the Equinox is selling good.
