2019 Chevrolet Colorado Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2019 Colorado gets various updates and changes. The 2019 model year represents the fifth year of the second-generation Colorado in the United States market.

We initially expected the 2019 Colorado to deliver a mid-cycle refresh. However, we now believe that the Colorado facelift will arrive for the 2020 model year as the 2020 Chevy Colorado.

2019 Colorado Changes, Updates, New Features

  • Exterior:
    • Deletion of four exterior colors:
      • Deletion of Centennial Blue Metallic exterior color
      • Deletion of Wheatland Yellow exterior color (still available as a special order color for fleets)
      • Deletion of Deepwood Green Metallic exterior color
      • Deletion of Graphite Metallic exterior color
    • Addition of three new exterior colors:
      • Crush
      • Shadow Gray Metallic
      • Pacific Blue Metallic
    • Wheel changes:
      • Deletion of 18″ Dark Argent metallic cast aluminum wheels
      • Addition of 18″ Dark Argent metallic cast aluminum wheel (different RPO code and likely different wheel design)
    • ZR2 models now feature black bowties
  • Interior:
    • Replacement of Chevrolet MyLink 7″ diagonal Color Touch Screen (IOB) with Chevrolet Infotainment System 3 with 7″ diagonal color touch-screen (IOR), which also includes:
      • AM/FM stereo
      • Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices
      • Voice command pass-through to phone
      • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability
    • Replacement Chevrolet MyLink 8″ diagonal Color Touch Screen (IO5) with Chevrolet Infotainment System Plus with 8″ diagonal HD color touch-screen (IOS), which also includes:
      • AM/FM stereo
      • Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices
      • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability
      • Enhanced voice recognition
      • In-vehicle apps, cloud connected personalization for select infotainment and vehicle settings
      • Subscription required for enhanced and connected services after trial period
    • Deletion of Chevrolet MyLink 8″ diagonal Color Touch Screen Navigation (IO6) with Chevrolet Infotainment System with Navigation and 8″ diagonal HD color touch-screen (IOT), which also includes:
      • USB data ports and memory card
      • AM/FM stereo
      • Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices
      • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability
      • Enhanced voice recognition
      • Additional memory for in-vehicle apps, cloud connected personalization for select infotainment and vehicle settings
      • Subscription required for enhanced and connected services after trial period
    • USB and connectivity port changes:
      • Replacement of USB port located on instrument panel and USB port located inside center console with one type-A and one type-C USB data ports on the front console (includes SD Card Reader and auxiliary input jack)
      • Addition of two new charging-only USB ports located on the rear of the center console on LT, Z71 and ZR2 trim levels
        • On prior model years, the USB ports on the rear of the center console were also present, but now feature a different RPO code, suggesting improvements to the feature
    • Addition of second in-cabin microphone for passenger
    • Addition of HD Rear Vision Camera as standard on LT, Z71 and ZR2 trims
      • On prior model years, the only Rear Vision Camera was the non-HD version
      • Non-HD Rear Vision Camera remains on Base and Work Truck trims
    • Replacement of 4-way driver power with manual recline seat adjuster with 6-way power driver seat on LT, Z71 and ZR2 trims
      • On prior model years, the driver’s seat had 4-way power adjustment with manual recline standard on all models; LT trims offered optional lumbar control, and Z71 and ZR2 trims had it standard
    • Addition of heated steering wheel as standard on Z71 and ZR2 trims and available on LT trim (requires Convenience Package and heated seats, and included with Luxury Package)
    • Addition of Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist:
      • Available on Work Truck 2WD model, where it requires WT Convenience Package and not available with (N8D) 6-Speed manual transmission
      • Available on Work Truck 4WD model, where requires WT Convenience Package
      • Available on LT 2WD and 4WD models, where it is included and only available with Safety Package
      • Standard on Z71 2WD and 4WD models
      • Not available on Base or ZR2 models
  • Packages:
    • Deletion of Colorado Centennial Edition
    • Deletion of Shoreline Special Edition – LT Cloth Package
    • Deletion of Shoreline Special Edition – Luxury Package
    • Introduction of Colorado ZR2 Bison package
    • Luxury Package now includes heated steering wheel, which is new for 2019 model year
    • Safety Package now includes Rear Park Assist, which is new for 2019 model year

  • (AH6) 4-way power driver seat adjuster replaced with (AG1) 6-way power drive seat adjuster on uplevel trims
  • (PCW) Safety Package now includes (UD7) Rear Park Assist
  • (PCK) Luxury Package now includes (UVD) heated steering wheel
  • ZR2 models now feature Black bowties
  • (LCV) 2.5L 4-cylinder engine on 4WD Extended Cab models is now Fleet only
