The Cadillac Celestiq serves as Caddy’s all-electric halo machine, offering the very best that Cadillac can muster in terms of luxury, customization, and technology. With an all-electric powertrain under the skin, the Cadillac Celestiq packs in many of the traditional EV-style features, including a front trunk, otherwise known as a frunk. Now, we’re getting our very first look at what the Cadillac Celestiq frunk looks like with the following photos.
This particular Cadillac Celestiq was spotted on the streets of Vancouver, where it was on set for a video shoot. Pictures of the all-electric luxury sedan ended up on social media, providing us with a look under the hood at the sedan’s frunk.
Although images of the frunk are somewhat limited, they still provide a sense of the shape and size of the thing. Lifting the hood on the Cadillac Celestiq, the frunk appears to be similar in shape to the Cadillac crest, and could provide a spot for storage of a handbag or briefcase. The top of the frunk is lined in silver trim, while the interior of the storage compartment is lined in blue upholstery.
The exterior of this Cadillac Celestiq is finished in a spicy orange paint color dubbed Habanero, and this particular example appears to be the same car that was recently spotted in New York City. For those readers who may have missed it, the Celestiq was spotted on the streets of NYC alongside tennis star Frances Tiafoe, who examined the sedan before climbing into the rear seat for a short drive. Tiafoe is a brand ambassador for Cadillac.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Celestiq rides on top of the GM BEV3 platform, and sources motivation from a 111 kWh GM Ultium battery pack juicing a pair of GM Ultium Drive motors. Maximum output is rated at 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, sending the sedan to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Pricing starts around $340,000.

Ok, I understand that in a sedan, any space that can be utilized for stowage is a positive thing. However, when you make a fronk in an electric vehicle such as the Celestic, why? Do you want to open the large hood to get your purse or backpack? The size, as is viewable in the picture, leaves only small ways of utilizing the space provided. Again, why? Give us something more practical or give us nothing I feel. All it does is create frustration. So, why is it there?
Nothing to get excited about. It is just there if a client cares to use it or not and pictures does not tell everything. The way the frunk is fancied up, more than likely something very valuable and important could be stored in the frunk.
Doesn’t look too large, but it’s hard to tell really as the hood is pretty long and wide. Does look relatively deep. I still think it would be useful – I am sure you will be able to get custom luggage to fit exactly in there. A good spot to have some charging cables with, again, a custom fitted bag. The owner could put his diamond collection in there with rr to spare.
The final photo is laughable. After 2 years no one is buying that albatross of a design.
Looks like the rear Bumper fell-off exposing the inner structural beam / bar….
Why are they putting the brake lights low to the ground? I thought they had to be up higher so drivers could see them, especially the third brake light. Turn signals too, Hyundai and others are putting the turn signal lights down there too. There should be a standard. Yellow turn signals of a certain size at a certain height so you can see them.
Odd that a beast this large has a frunk smaller than my C8.
My Prediction:
Unfortunately, it will replace the Pontiac Aztek as the most hideous vehicle design ever.
Careful C8LOVR, Mark Reuss may take offense to that comment. He was the Chief Engineer for the Aztek and proud of the fact that the product achieved all its INTERNAL business case objectives. That is until they actually had to sell some of those dogs.
Never saw the failure coming.
The rear end of that thing is uglier than the love child of an Edsel and the Aztek. The VP that approved that should be fired.
It is but It’s purely intentional. The design defies every automotive design convention. They made this car to be different than anything else out there, because buyers in this price range for an EV want it to be different and get noticed.
They couldn’t command this price if it had understated looks as a sedan. Think about it for a few minutes and it will make sense. It got you and others talking about it didn’t it?
Buyers in that price range may want things different and to get noticed, but I don’t think they want to spend 300k to get laughed at, and they will.
Missed opportunity to make it the shape of the crest, it’s almost there.
Again, who signed off on the design of the rear of this car? It just makes a car look like a 340,000 ugly hatchback, which is a shame. They still should have gone with the Cadillac Escala concept car which was a much nicer design. If they do decide to come up with an Escala production model at a slghtly
lower price point and electrified I’d buy one in a heartbeat.

The commercial is being filmed in Vancouver, B.C. It is already starting a storied life of privilege. The most expensive city to live in in North America. How absolutely fitting.
It’s not supposed to be practical. A car like this at this price isn’t for people who have “practicality” high on their list when shopping.
Custom luggage is a good idea, and it will tell if Cadillac understands the clientele based on who they partner with to create it. No poor-person luxury like Louis Vuitton or Gucci. You need Hermes or Brioni or someone like that.
The hatchback design reminds me of the razor back 1980 Seville.
