Following the official debut of the updated full-size SUV in China in late April, General Motors has just launched the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe in the Asian country.

The automaker’s new Chinese premium import and lifestyle platform, The Durant Guild, has launched the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe in that country’s domestic market, officially introducing the fifth generation of the iconic American SUV. As GM Authority previewed in a previous report, the launch of the 2025 Tahoe took place on August 20 in conjunction with the opening of the all-new The Durant Guild Experience Center Shanghai.

“With the launch of new Tahoe in China, we look forward to continuing the legacy of the full-size SUV together with our customers, leveraging its iconic design, sumptuous interior, all-terrain performance and intelligent driving features,” said the President of The Durant Guild and Vice President at GM Premium Import, Leon Li. “Leveraging the rich heritage of the Suburban Carryall – the world’s first SUV, the 2025 Tahoe has a powerful stance combined with a premium interior with enhanced technology and safety,” he added.

Notably, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe becomes The Durant Guild’s first American-made GM model to be launched in the Chinese market and kicks off the company’s new division’s onslaught of lifestyle halo vehicles in that country. The 2025 Tahoe lineup for China comprises two versions with distinctive trim and equipment in Classic and High Country trim levels.

Both trims come standard with a full suite of advanced technology and safety features, including Chevy’s new Virtual Cockpit with massive displays and the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. New to Tahoe models for China is the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B TurboMax engine, which develops 300 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque and is mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe is now available for sale in China via The Durant Guild’s official website and the platform’s new flagship store in Shanghai. This represents the first location in a network of brand centers that will gradually grow and, by early 2025, consist of seven stores and 14 service centers across multiple cities across the country. Units are built to order at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

These are the prices of the two versions of the 2025 Chevy Tahoe in China:

  • 2025 Tahoe Classic: 648,000 yuan (about $90,850 USD at current exchange rates)
  • 2025 Tahoe High Country: 728,000 yuan ($102,070 USD)

  4. Does it worth the money to get a 2.7T Tahoe? We have no choice here in China. For the same price we could get a BMW X5L.
