The Chevy Equinox EV was unveiled in 2022, rounding out Chevrolet‘s lineup by slotting in underneath the Chevy Blazer EV. As expected, the battery-powered Equinox incorporates a number of interesting features to enhance its aesthetic appeal and technological prowess. Now, GM Global Vehicle Chief Engineer Mark Allen is covering some of the Equinox EV’s best features with the following brief video.
Clocking in at just one minute, the video very quickly covers several of the Chevy Equinox EV’s standout features, starting inside with the massive 17.7-inch infotainment display mounted on top of the dash. Notably, the 17.7-inch screen is standard equipment across the Equinox EV lineup, providing a high-tech hub for the vehicle’s numerous functionalities. The Equinox EV also offers Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous, hands-free driver assistance system, which allows for a more relaxed driving experience on compatible roads. Safety is enhanced even further with the available Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes a suite of advanced safety technologies.
Moving to the exterior, the Equinox EV’s design stands out with power flush door handles, contributing to a sleek and aerodynamic profile. The crossover also offers 21-inch wheels as an option, while 19-inch wheels are standard on lower trims. Additionally, the Equinox EV caters to outdoor enthusiasts with a variety of accessories, including a roof rack, a trailer hitch, and a bike rack.
The video concludes with Allen making a bold statement:
“This is the vehicle that will lead us to mainstream EVs in America.”

The Ultium platform generates so much low end torque, actually more than most gasoline engines, that the wheels need six bolts instead of just five. Just look at every Ultium based vehicle from Cadillac, Chevrolet, and even Honda’ s Prologue.
He did not use the word “ton” when talking about what you can carry on the roof, did he?
He knows it’s an actual measure of weight I assume. Sigh. Someone needs to edit it before they get hit with an idiot suing for crushing their roof.
If the roof is anything like my ’23 Bolt EUV, which is so thin itg actually buckles under the pressure of the automatic car wash sprayers, a “baker’s dozen” may even be pushing the weight limit….
2030 is my target.
Are you ever going to make a hybrid for the States
