The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, as the first year of the all-new electric pickup model, offered only two available exterior paint colors, the most basic of all – Summit White (color code GAZ) and Black (color code GBA). Now, the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV is set to expand the palette considerably.
In fact, five new paint colors will be added to the lineup with the launch of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV, giving buyers a choice of seven exterior hues to choose from when configuring or purchasing their truck.
The quintet of exterior colors introduced along with the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV includes several blue and gray hues, along with a red-based color, as shown below (with relevant color codes in parenthesis):
- Blue Smoke Metallic (GAI)
- Habanero Metallic (GAG)
- Riptide Blue Metallic (GJV)
- Slate Gray Metallic (GNO)
- Zephyr Blue Matte Metallic (GLG)
The current Summit White and Black, which also carry over for 2025, are offered on both the Silverado EV Work Truck and the RST First Edition. Among the new colors, Habanero Metallic and Riptide Blue won’t be available on the Work Truck (WT), with Riptide Blue Metallic offered as an extra-charge color. Blue Smoke will only be available on the forthcoming Silverado EV LT trim level, while Zephyr Blue Matte – another extra-charge choice – will only be offered on the RST.
Besides adding more paint colors, the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV will usher in several other significant changes to the vehicle. Among these, the WT trim level will get three variants based on battery size, the Standard Range (2WT), the Extended Range (5WT), and the Max Range (8WT), while the 3WT and 4WT trim designations are retired.
The pickup will also get an off-road focused Trail Boss variant, though the specifics are not yet publicly available for this version of the truck, either. Images show all-terrain tires, a lifted stance, and unique styling details, along with the red tow hooks usually used on trail-ready models.
Production of the 2025 model year is expected on September 3rd, 2024 at the GM Factory Zero plant in Hamtramck, Michigan. The Chevy Silverado EV is motivated by GM Ultium battery technology and Ultium Drive motor technology, while structure is provided by the GM BT1 platform.
