Here’s When 2025 Chevy Silverado EV Production Is Scheduled To Start

After launching the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV in Work Truck and RST First Edition configurations, the Bow Tie brand is set to offer an expanded lineup with the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV. And now, GM Authority has learned when production of the electric pickup’s second model year will commence.

The start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 Silverado EV is currently scheduled to start on September 3rd, 2024. As usual, this date is tentative and subject to change between now and then.

The Silverado EV is currently available in 3WT and 4WT trim levels for fleet buyers, while consumers get the Silverado EV RST First Edition. For the 2025 model year, the lineup is expected to grow with the arrival of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV LT and the non-First-Edition RST in late 2024. The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss will be introduced sometime during the 2025 calendar year.

The Chevy Silverado EV LT should be the most affordable consumer-focused variant, with capabilities similar to those of the 3WT and 4WT. The LT should offer the same two battery sizes as the Work Truck variants, in addition to a fancier appearance and an upgraded interior. We’re also expecting the Silverado EV LT to feature the same 17.7-inch infotainment system touchscreen and 11-inch digital driver instrument cluster as those in the Silverado EV RST.

The “regular” RST should present a similar appearance as the First Edition, but with less standard features moved over into option packages, as well as a wider choice of paint colors, wheels and interior colorways. The Silverado EV Trail Boss will obviously represent the off-roading variant of the bunch, equipped with a lifted suspension, red tow hooks and meaty all-terrain tires.

All 2025 Chevy Silverado EV configurations will ride on the GM BT1 platform, using Ultium battery packs and Ultium Drive motors. Production will continue to take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Hamtramck, Michigan.
