Like other recent GM vehicles, the 2024 Cadillac CT4, as well as the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V and the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, offer multiple driving modes to fine-tune performance to current road conditions or the driving experience desired by the driver.
Here, GM Authority is going over all the driving modes available for the Cadillac CT4 so you know exactly what mode to pick to make the best of your time behind the wheel of Caddy’s compact luxury sedan.
Activating the Driver Mode Control on the Cadillac CT4 starts with pressing the Driver Mode Control Switch on the center console, located to the lower right of the shifter for both automatic and manual transmissions, though the switch is positioned somewhat differently for each. Use the up and down arrows to select the desired drive mode from the menu that appears.
Notably, V-Mode is activated using a separate switch located at the bottom of the horizontal steering wheel spoke, which may be on the left or right spoke depending on trim level. The available modes for the 2024 model year include the following:
- Tour Mode
- Sport Mode
- Snow/Ice Mode
- My Mode
- V-Mode
- Competitive Driving Mode
Tour Mode
Tour mode is the normal driving mode for the 2024 Cadillac CT4. It provides a smooth and comfortable ride while also offering decent handling. Since it is the standard mode, it has no unique indicator when active.
Sport Mode
Sport mode, as its name suggests, alters driving characteristics to match a sportier driving style, typically on dry pavement. Entering the mode downshifts the transmission along with enhancing engine braking and offering more precise steering. “Spirited driving” also causes the CT4 to activate Performance Shift. Sport mode returns to Tour mode when “spirited driving” stops or the vehicle is turned off.
Snow/Ice Mode
Snow/Ice mode modifies wheel speed to improve traction on snow, slush, or ice. This mode will cause decreased driving performance if used on dry pavement by weakening acceleration. GM recommends avoiding use of Snow/Ice mode when bogged down in mud or sand.
My Mode
My Mode enables customizing everyday driving, though not “dynamic driving,” which requires V-Mode. The driver can program different settings for steering, suspension, brake feel, and engine sound.
V-Mode
V-Mode is a customizable mode for performance driving or “dynamic driving” and is available only on the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing. Overall, it is meant to allow maximizing handling. The table below shows the customization options for this mode:
Modes | Tour (Default) | Sport | Track | Snow/Ice |
---|---|---|---|---|
Engine/Shift | Tour | Tour | Track | Snow/Ice |
Throttle Progression | Tour | Tour | Track | Snow/Ice |

Competitive Driving Mode
Competitive Driving Mode is an optional handling mode that increases the sedan’s agility, removes limits on wheel spin, and makes the steering wheel harder to turn. It can be entered by pressing “Traction Control Off” twice while in Sport Mode. The mode can be switched off and normal traction control restored by pressing “Traction Control Off” again, or switching to accessory mode and restarting the vehicle.
As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 is underpinned by the GM Alpha 2 platform, while North American production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
